Reggae was a blast! The party maybe over but the clean up party still continues! If you have some time this week we really could use help at the Mateel to clean and put away all the items that went to site. If you have hours you need to finish or would like hours to go towards the Steel Pulse show Oct. 6th, we got you covered.
Come any time between 9am & 5pm!
Thank you.

🎶 The board of the Cyrus Wong-Weissman Music Fund has announced the recipients of grants for 2026. Two recipients have been selected to receive a grant of $500 each:

🎼 Tenzin Wood of Alderpoint
🎼 Luca Umina of Whale Gulch

🎓 Tenzin plans to use the funds to attend College of the Redwoods this fall in pursuit of a music degree, with the goal of becoming a music teacher. Luca intends to put the money toward attending a chamber music workshop at Cal Poly Humboldt. Both recipients are residents of the northern Mendocino/southern Humboldt area, a region which the Cyrus Wong-Weissman Music Fund is focused on due to the relative lack of resources compared to other parts of Northern California.

👉 Applications for next year’s grants will open January 1st, 2027, and are open to young people 18 and under. More information for donors and applicants can be found via the Humboldt Area Foundation website at hafoundation.org/cyruswongweissman

🥳 Congratulations, Tenzin and Luca!

ℹ️ The Cyrus Wong-Weissman Music Fund is intended for kids up to the age of 18 who reside in Northern Mendocino and Humboldt Counties who have an interest in pursuing music, either to buy an instrument, take music lessons, attend music camps, purchase musical equipment, etc. Contributions are held in the Cyrus Wong-Weissman Music Fund at HAF and distributed to youth in conjunction with the Mateel Community Center. ❤️
