Today, we’re excited to kick off the Garberville Roundabout Beautification Project — a collaborative community effort between the Southern Humboldt Garden Club and the Southern Humboldt Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center.

This project will bring a new drip irrigation system and drought-tolerant landscaping to the Garberville Roundabout, helping create a more beautiful, sustainable, and welcoming gateway for our community and visitors alike.

A huge thank you goes out to Chautauqua Kitchen & Market for generously donating lunch for our volunteers today. The turkey sandwiches, bananas, and juice are so deeply appreciated and help keep our crew fueled while they work hard to improve our community.

Thank you as well to CalTrans for providing cones and helping keep our volunteers safe while working around the roundabout today. We truly appreciate the support and partnership.

We also want to thank all of the volunteers, community members, and partners helping make this project possible. Community beautification projects like this happen because people care enough to show up and work together.

Special thanks as well to Bill for volunteering his time and expertise to lead the irrigation installation and donate additional materials to support the project.

Southern Humboldt continues to thrive because of collaboration, volunteerism, and community pride — and today is a beautiful example of that in action.

THANK YOU, SOUTHERN HUMBOLDT

The Inaugural Southern Humboldt Heroes & Leaders Ball
Annual Fireman’s Ball & Chamber Business Awards was officially SOLD OUT — and what an unforgettable evening it was.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, donated, sponsored, contributed auction items, purchased tickets, and helped make this event such an incredible success for our community.

A truly extraordinary thank-you goes to Greg & Tanya Musgrave, Julia Morgan Redwood Grove, whose generosity helped take this event to an entirely new level. Their commitment to matching funds dollar-for-dollar up to $10,000 inspired our community to rally together in an incredible way and dramatically increased the impact of this event.

Because of this amazing community effort, we are proud to announce that we reached the FULL $10,000 matching contribution from Greg & Tanya Musgrave, Julia Morgan Redwood Grove.

We were sitting at approximately $7,800 raised when the Benbow Historic Inn stepped forward and contributed an additional $2,200, bringing us to the full $10,000 match.

That created an incredible $20,000 winning pot for one lucky Volunteer Fire Department.

Congratulations to Salmon Creek Volunteer Fire Department, whose name was drawn as the grand prize winner.
