RUBY OF THE ROCKIES!!!!!

The Bridge is OPEN!!!!!!

There’s so many people we need to Thank for this epic event for our community.

First off THANK YOU Myers & Sons Construction ahead of schedule, under budget and your crew was great!!!! They were very respectful to our community, friendly and all around great to have around, we’re happy to see them go since the bridge is open but will be sad they won’t be around cause they were all great!!!!

Next, thank you Pitkin County Government and especially Andrew Knapp, we needed a new bridge and you guys did a great job getting it together, I know there was many more involved but Andrew had great communication with the RCA and Community, put in tons of man hours behind the scenes, and we believe was pivotal in making this happen.

Thank you to the Redstone Inn for the use of their tent for the potluck, your staff that helped set up the tent for us, donating the tea, lemonade and water, kitchen staff for letting us use some serving spoons, since we spaced that, and giving the community a place to have a fun friendly potluck.

Redstone Community, you all showed up
In force and made this opening a special one!!! Thank you to all the kiddos who were part of the parade, the future generation of Redstone set the precedence for the new bridge. To all the other community members thank you for joining the potluck, and supporting the RCA, as well as showing up to thank the county and Myers and Sons crew for their hard work!!!!

Thank you to the RCA Volunteers who helped with cooking, setup, take down, clean up, reset the Redstone Welcome sign, and everything in between!!!!

Thank you to Tucker Farris and the The Crystal Valley Echo for the use of the Osgood Scissors to cut the ribbon and showing up to document the historic event for Redstone.

Lastly thank you to the Redstone businesses and residential community for understanding the traffic issues, extra traffic on the north end, it was a bit of a tough summer that I believe took a toll on everyone one way or another but we got through it!!!!! Hopefully onto the next chapter!!

THE BRIDGE IS OPENING!!! THE BRIDGE IS OPENING!!!

The bridge should be opening in the next couple weeks!!! There is a projected date but we aren’t confirming as there are still quite a few things to finish. But an early completion is still planned..

The RCA is working with Pitkin County for a Bridge Opening/Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. The projected ribbon cutting will be a late afternoon and exact date and time will be announced once we have full confirmation from the contractor and county.

What to expect
- a ribbon cutting ceremony that announces the official opening of the South Bridge
- The RCA has proposed that we have children walking or on bicycles to be the first ones to cross over the bridge once the ribbon is cut
- The RCA is planning to have the annual community potluck immediately following the bridge ceremony

Please stay tuned and once we have the official date we will announce it along with Pitkin County, the hopeful planned date is the week of Aug 10

If anyone has any thoughts, concerns, suggestions, questions or comments please let us know we will also be discussing at the Aug 4 RVA Meeting 5:30PM Redstone inn

We may not have the south bridge open for 4th of July, BUT Myers & Sons Construction putting up this giant flag on the bridge is well worth it!!!! This is an amazing patriotic thoughtful touch they did that we GREATLY appreciate! YOU GUYS ARE KICKIN ASS on that bridge for us and this shows a sentimental touch that your company represents as well as a very professional job and representation with our community. Pitkin County Government you guys picked an amazing contractor for this job!!! If you see these guys in town after a long day buy them a round or some dinner cause they are top notch!!!

Thank you Myers and Sons for your amazing work, we hope you’ll be there for the ribbon cutting of the amazing bridge you’ve constructed!!!!
