YES!!!! WE ARE HAVING THE ANNUAL REDSTONE 4th of JULY CELEBRATION and PARADE!!!!!!
Here’s a few things you need to know
1. A list of events, activities and times will be available with some flyers at the several community boards and business in the coming weeks
2. Parking will be severely limited this year PLEASE CARPOOL!!! And plan ahead there will be parking at elk park, theRedstone Inn fishing lot, and the north side of Coal Basin Rd. NO PARKING ON HWY 133 or NORTH BOULEVARD. Access to the boulevard will be through elk park and across the pedestrian bridge
3. The boulevard will have a hard closure at 9:45AM due to safety of pedestrians in town, the closure will begin at the Redstone Campground. No entrance after 9:45AM except for emergency vehicles!!! This is per the PitCo Sheriff and Pitkin County Special Events if you have friends/family coming into town to park at your home they will need to be there prior to 9:45AM the closure will last until crowds die down
4. Parade will begin at the Redstone Inn, floats will go down the boulevard and then exit town,
5. Bike decorating for kids starts at 10AM (Redstone Inn), pie sales and ducky derby begin 9:45AM (Redstone Museum) line dancing at Ron’s Rink (10:30-11:30AM), Parade begins 12PM (Boulevard), concert in the park 1:30 PM, water fights 1:30/2ish (propaganda pie)
6. We ask that all floats sign up at the link below so we have your contact info and can give you specifications on how the parade will work
7. Volunteers are always needed you can also sign up to volunteer at the link below.
Thank you all for the understanding!!!! The south bridge closure this year has given us a bit of an obstacle but we’re doing our best to make this a great celebration!!!!
