Friends, we have an urgent need for prayer! 🙏🙏🙏

We just received a call from our broker at the border. Apparently, a change was just made, and they are no longer allowing the houses to cross through the smaller border crossing. They now must go through the commercial crossing, which requires a commercial driver's license like those used by semi-truck drivers.

Our broker is working on two possible solutions. He is trying to reach the new Aduana official to request an exemption for tomorrow. He is also checking with a company to see if they can provide three drivers to tow the houses across, at an estimated cost of $150–$200 per driver.

For now, we have three houses in a holding pattern and three teams as well.

Please pray for favor for tomorrow and for us to know soon as well as for something favorable moving forward.

For the past 25 years, Hands of Mercy has had the blessing of serving families in Ensenada and the surrounding communities. The recent storm has brought heartbreaking devastation to many of these communities, leaving families without homes and many of their few possessions.

Many of you have reached out asking how you can help, and we are grateful for your willingness to serve.

Our ministry partner, YUGO, has established a relief fund where 100% of every donation will go directly toward helping families in need.

Please take a moment to watch this video and prayerfully consider giving whatever you can. No gift is too small, and together we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of families who have lost so much.

Let's be the hands and feet of Jesus to those who need us most.

In the aftermath of Storm Rachel, many families in the communities we have served for more than two decades are facing unimaginable loss.

For over 20 years, Hands of Mercy has had the blessing of serving alongside churches, ministry partners, and volunteers to bring hope and shelter to families in some of the most impoverished communities surrounding Ensenada.

These are communities where families already live with very little. Many of their homes were makeshift shelters, built with whatever materials they could find, in areas never designed to withstand the powerful winds and heavy rains brought by this storm.

For many families, what little they had is now gone. Their belongings have been washed away, and shelters they once called home have been completely destroyed. Families who had so little to begin with are now facing the heartbreaking reality of having nothing.

Our hearts are heavy for these families, many of whom have become dear to us through the years.

So, what can we do to help?

Tomorrow, we will be meeting with our ministry partners in the Ensenada area to better understand the devastation, learn about the immediate needs, and prayerfully consider how God might use Hands of Mercy and the many churches and individuals who have been part of this ministry of His to make a difference.

Right now, these communities are in the Relief Stage, where the most urgent needs are safety, food, clothing, and basic necessities. But as they move into Recovery and Restoration, we believe there will be meaningful opportunities for all of us to come alongside these families and help them rebuild their lives.

This will not be something that is resolved in a few days or weeks. The road to recovery will be long, and the needs will continue well beyond the immediate aftermath of the storm.

We are asking you to join us in prayer.

Pray for the families who have lost their homes and possessions.

Pray for the pastors, churches, and ministry partners who are working tirelessly to care for those affected.

Pray for wisdom and discernment as we seek to understand where God is leading us and how we can best serve.

And pray that God would soften and stir the hearts of everyone who has been part of Hands of Mercy over the years, moving us beyond compassion into action.

To the many churches, families, and individuals who have faithfully supported Hands of Mercy throughout the years, we appreciate you more than words can express. Because of your willingness to serve, countless families have experienced the love of Jesus in a very tangible way.

Now, once again, there is an opportunity to be His hands and feet.

As we learn more in the coming days, we will share updates and ways you can be involved. In the meantime, we encourage you to prayerfully consider how God might be calling you, your family, or your church to help in the days, weeks, and months ahead.

The storm may have taken away their shelters and possessions, but together, through God's grace, we can help restore hope.

Come discover what God can do with a willing heart.

For many years people have known Hands of Mercy as a ministry that builds homes in México.

But the truth is... it has never really been about the house.

A house is simply the beginning of a story that God is writing.

We've watched Him provide shelter for families who have prayed for years, strengthen local churches, and remind people that they have not been forgotten. At the same time, we've seen Him transform the hearts of those who were willing to simply say "yes" and go. Time after time, volunteers return home with a different perspective, a deeper faith, and a renewed understanding of what truly matters.

This video shares the heart of Hands of Mercy—why we do what we do, and more importantly, what God does when ordinary people take a step of obedience.

If you've ever wondered what Hands of Mercy is really about, we would love for you to take a few minutes to watch.

Dear Friends,

Over the years, many of you have faithfully served alongside Hands of Mercy. Together we've built homes, shared meals, prayed with families, laughed, cried, and watched God do things that only He could accomplish. We are deeply grateful for the role each of you has played in this ministry.

As we look toward the future, we are working on something very special—a HōM Vision Book.

Our hope is that this book will do much more than preserve the history of Hands of Mercy. We want it to preserve the heart, the values, and the DNA of the ministry so that long after today's leaders are gone, future generations will understand that this has always been God's ministry, not ours. We want those who come after us to see His faithfulness and give Him all the glory.

One of the most important parts of this book will be the stories of people whose lives God has impacted through HōM.

Would you be willing to share one?

It could be:

A favorite memory from a build trip or pre-build.

A moment when you saw God at work.

An experience that changed your perspective or strengthened your faith.

A relationship that was formed through HōM.

A lesson God taught you through serving.

Most importantly, we'd love to hear how God used that experience in your life. Looking back, how did He shape you? What did He teach you? How has that experience continued to influence your walk with Him?

Your story doesn't have to be long or polished. Just write from your heart. We are looking for authentic testimonies of God's faithfulness.

It is our prayer that years from now, someone reading these stories will finish the book with one overwhelming conclusion:

"What a faithful God."
