DRESSED TO SHINE: Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Tau Alpha Omega Chapter Hosts Regional Prom Dress Giveaway in Redford, Michigan.

Over 40 Redford Union High School seniors received complimentary prom attire and accessories through the Regional Prom Dress Giveaway, hosted by Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® Tau Alpha Omega Chapter, ensuring every student had the opportunity to attend prom with confidence and style.

The April 14, 2026, event was held in partnership with the Great Lakes Regional Program Committee, led by Jackie Davis-Betserai, Regional Program Chairman and Representative to the International Program Committee. Regional Director Gwendolyn L. Kirtley charged the region to curate and collect gowns, shoes, and accessories made available to Redford Union High School seniors at no cost, reflecting the chapter's deep commitment to academic support, community service, and the total empowerment of young people in Metro Detroit.
