🌾🍃 Explore the Prairie at the Spink County Rangeland Workshop! 🍃🌾

Are you interested in plants, conservation, wildlife, agriculture, or spending time outdoors? Join us for the 2026 Spink County Rangeland Workshop on June 23, 2026!

This hands-on workshop is open to all youth ages 8-18. You do NOT need to be a 4-H member to participate!

Participants will:
🌱 Learn to identify native grasses and plants
🐞 Explore South Dakota rangelands firsthand
🌾 Gain valuable conservation and land management knowledge
🏆 Compete in a rangeland judging contest
🤝 Learn from local conservation professionals and landowners

📅 Date: June 23, 2026
📍 Meet at the Frankfort Community Center
💲 Cost: $10
⏰ Registration Deadline: June 16, 2026

Lunch will be provided by the Spink County Conservation District.

Please bring:
✔️ Bug spray
✔️ Sunscreen
✔️ Notebook & pencil
✔️ Plant press (if you have one)

Wear appropriate clothing and shoes for walking in fields.

Whether you're preparing for rangeland judging, interested in natural resources, or simply looking for a fun outdoor learning experience, this workshop is for you!

🌱 Invest in the Future of Spink County Youth! 🌱

Behind every ribbon, leadership opportunity, community service project, and life skill learned through 4-H is the support of caring individuals and businesses right here in our community.

In 2025, Spink County 4-H proudly served:
✅ 155 youth in the traditional 4-H program
✅ 21 Cloverbud members learning and growing through hands-on experiences
✅ Youth who excelled at the State Fair, State Dog Show, Teen Leadership Conference, and even represented South Dakota at a national livestock contest in Kentucky.

Your support helps make these opportunities possible. Donations help fund:
🍀 Achievement Days
🍀 County Horse Show
🍀 Leadership and educational experiences
🍀 Youth recognition and premium awards
🍀 County-wide 4-H activities that build confidence, responsibility, and lifelong skills.

Purple Ribbon Skills Day: Large and Small Animal Showmanship Clinic

Whether you exhibit large animals or small animals, this is a great opportunity to sharpen your skills, ask questions, and prepare for a successful fair season.

This clinic is designed to help 4-H members build confidence in the show ring while learning:
• Proper animal control and handling techniques
• Ring etiquette and showmanship fundamentals
• Species-specific presentation skills
• Tips and tricks from experienced industry professionals
