So today marks one of those big forks in the road for me (Pat) and the rescue. Yesterday was my last day of having a career. I've retired from the 9 to 5 (or in my case 7 to 4) grind of going to work every weekday. To say I'm both excited and terrified would be accurate. But whenever I talk about what I want to do in retirement, the first thing is "devote more time and effort to ACME Cats". This means more quality time with the cats, more and more diverse social content, finally standing up a decent website, and who knows what other mischief I'll get into. My to-do list is long but ACME Cats is #1 (and #2 and #3, etc.). Lorna is obviously very excited too...

Sorry we haven't posted for a while, we're still here, just been dealing with some other 'adventures'. This is some great news, hope other cities follow Ft. Worth's model!

It seems that around this time every year we get a call about a homeless mama cat and her kittens. This year I didn’t have to go very far. A mama and 3 kittens were found huddled under a stack for structural steel building materials at my work. The crew was able to catch all of the kittens and get them into a carrier. I was able to go by the ranch and pick up a trap to place in front of the carrier with the kittens. Now we wait.
