We also want to recognize Tristan Bond for his effort and commitment in the competition. While he didn’t place this time, he put up an amazing fight! Thank you to all 3 of our apprentices for your hard work, determination, and dedication to representing our program so well!

Shoutout as well to St. Joseph’s apprentice ,Zach Taul, for earning 2nd Place in HVAC—great work!

And lastly, a special thank you to SMART Local 3 for hosting an excellent competition. We appreciate the opportunity to compete and connect with such skilled apprentices across the region.

Thank you to the Sheet Metal Workers Local No. 2 for their support of our Bronco football team. The Spring Hill vs Louisburg game was chosen by the union as the game of the week and each school received $750.

🔥 Local 2 Shines at the Great Plains Council Regional Contest! 🔥

This past weekend, three of our talented Local 2 apprentices represented us with pride at the Great Plains Council Regional Contest after qualifying by winning their local contest in February. Competing against top apprentices from seven Great Plains locals, they tested their skills in a written general industry sheet metal knowledge exam, an AutoCAD drafting challenge, and a hands-on shop project.

💪 Meet Our Competitors:
🔹 2nd Year – James Piburn (HVAC Division)
🔹 3rd Year – Will Vannerson (Industrial Division, second-time regional contestant)
🔹 4th Year – Brant Bender (Architectural Division, second-time regional contestant)

🏆 Results Are In! 🏆
🥇 Brant Bender took 1st Place in the Architectural division—an outstanding achievement for this returning competitor!
🥈 Will Vannerson delivered a strong performance, earning 2nd Place in the Industrial division, finishing just a few points behind the winner.
💪 James Piburn, in his first regional competition, made a solid showing with a 4th Place finish in the HVAC division!

A huge thank you to Sheet Metal Workers Local 124 for their warm hospitality and for hosting this year’s contest. We also appreciate all the locals who participated—it's always an incredible experience to come together and celebrate the dedication and the skills of our apprentices.
