The Furry Farm Rescue Our promise to our community: We will work together, we will be kind and considerate, we will educate, we will advocate, we will serve.

The Furry Farm Rescue's Mission is to save dogs most at risk in our local shelter systems: be it medical, seniors or puppies and provide them with a safe environment to thrive again. Our promise to our animals: We will love and protect you, provide an enriching and nurturing foster home, care for all your medical needs, give you the structure and training needed for success, and above all treat you as our own while you are with us. We are a small rescue established in North Idaho with 501(c)(3) status. Our team brings years of rescue and animal welfare together to form a family who is here to provide safety for forgotten animals and help find their forever family. We focus on those who need help the most, be it medical or behavior or both. Furry Farm is a foster based rescue; with an application, home check, and a meet and greet process before formalizing the adoption of your new furry friend. If you see an animal you would like to meet, head over to our website at thefurryfarmrescue.org to complete and application. 🚜💙🐶 Farm Pup Adoption Alert! 🚜💙🐶

Sage is part of our adorable Herb Litter, a group of five puppies we rescued together. The litter was a mix of smooth-coated pups and scruffy pups like Sage. After lots of love and care, all five were spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to find their forever families.

Sage took a little while to warm up to people. She loved dogs from the beginning. We worked a lot with her on exposing her to new environments with lots of people. One day we were out in Hood River, Oregon with Sage. As we were walking down the street we got stop by Austin asking us who this dog was. He knelt down and greeter her and said I think this is my dog. After more conversation he explained that he recently lost his dog Tuna earlier in the year after many years with her and he wasn’t looking for a dog right now. He grabbed his girlfriend's dogs and we did a mini meet and greet with them. Everyone got along great. He went home that night and filled out an application. She was home with Austin and Jessica by the next week. She is living her best life with all the adventures Hood River has too over.

🚜💙🐶 Farm Dog Adoption Alert! 🚜💙🐶

Nia came through the barn doors after suffering a traumatic leg injury by being clipped by a train. What an earth this sweet dog was doing near railroad tracks, we will never know, but luckily she survived & after having a rear leg amputated & getting some love & rehab by her foster family she was ready to find her forever home. Huge shout out props to our friends for getting Nia seen immediately for her trauma.

Alicia had been looking for a dog to join her family, and Nia caught her eye, so she started the adoption process- and Nia was the perfect fit! Alicia really wanted an adventure dog that loved car rides & to join her on hikes & camping plus she embraced the challenge of finishing Nia's training. Nia is now happily living with a new three year old buddy & also excelling in obedience.

Go live your best life Nia, having three legs has not slowed you down one bit!

OUR FAMILY NEEDS YOUR HELP ❤️🐾

Most of you know Breaking Bread is truly a family business. If you've been with us for a while, you've probably seen different members of our family behind the counter at one point or another.

This is my niece, Emmy. ❤️

Emmy was born with a rare genetic condition called Coffin-Siris Syndrome. She has developmental delays and is non-verbal and uses an AAC device to communicate. Earlier this year, our family was thrown another curveball when Emmy began having seizures, including one that lasted more than 30 minutes. She has since been diagnosed with epilepsy and, despite medication, continues to experience seizures.

But we recently got some pretty incredible news — Emmy has been accepted by 4 Paws for Ability to receive a specialty trained service dog! 🐾

Her dog will be trained specifically for her needs, and even alert to seizures...this will help give Emmy more safety, support and independence as she grows. For our family, especially because Emmy can't always tell us when something is wrong, this is HUGE!

Over the years, I’ve watched this community show up for people in some pretty incredible ways — and I’ve watched Emmy’s family do the same.

Her dad, Eddie, is a Marine Corps veteran and serves our community in law enforcement. Her mom, Kacey, runs a local nonprofit dedicated to giving back to people throughout North Idaho.

They are a family that believes deeply in showing up for their community. And now, they need a little help from that community in return. ❤️

Our goal is big — $20,000 — but I’ve seen firsthand what this community can do when we come together.

And if you can't donate, please share this post. Getting Emmy's story in front of more people is one of the biggest ways you can help.

Let's get this girl her dog. ❤️🐾

🚜💙🐶 Farm Pup Adoption Alert! 🚜💙🐶

Mint is part of our adorable Herb Litter, a group of five puppies we rescued together. The litter included a mix of smooth-coated pups and scruffy pups like Mint. After receiving lots of love and care, all of these little ones were spayed or neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to find their forever families.

Maureen & her husband had been keeping their eye out for a female puppy to join their family, and having a love for scruffs saw the Herb Litter and fell in love with Mint. The application got submitted and phone calls were made, and it sure sounded like a great fit. Living on acreage Mint would have lots of room to roam, and two other furry buddies to run & play with. At the meet & greet, the deal was sealed and off Mint went to live her best life in Idaho. We love stories like this and appreciate Maureen making the decision to adopt not shop!

Rocky’s journey began with a frightening and heartbreaking incident. His previous owner’s ex took Rocky and another dog and threw them out along Interstate 90. Thankfully, both dogs survived and eventually found their way to a shelter.

It took some time before we had an available foster home for Rocky. Fosters truly are the lifeline that allows us to save dogs like him, and we are always looking for more wonderful people willing to open their homes. Without fosters, we simply can’t save lives.

Despite everything Rocky had been through, he remained one of the sweetest dogs. We learned from his previous owner that Rocky experiences seizures about once a month. Thankfully, they are minor and he does not require medication, but knowing about his seizures did make finding the right home for him a little more challenging.

Then Susan saw his picture and something about Rocky spoke to her. When she met him, she was immediately impressed by his calm, gentle nature. During their meet-and-greet, there were loud noises that startled another dog who frequently visits Susan’s home, but Rocky remained completely calm and unfazed. She knew he was something special.

Susan says Rocky is the best dog and that he is doing wonderfully in his new home. She couldn’t be happier with him, and we couldn’t be happier that this incredibly deserving boy has finally found his forever home.

Thank you, Susan, for seeing Rocky for the wonderful dog he is and giving him the safe, loving home he deserves. After such a difficult beginning, Rocky’s happily-ever-after has finally begun.

Evie was rescued from a high-kill shelter and made her way to Idaho with The Underdog Railroad , wonderful volunteers who work tirelessly to save dogs from shelters where their lives are at risk.

When Evie came through our barn doors, she quickly showed us just how sweet and lovable she is. Her adopter, Tracey, was immediately drawn to Evie’s spunky personality, affectionate nature, and love of giving kisses. It didn’t take long for Evie to steal her heart!

Tracey’s dog, Tilly, was understandably a little unsure about this new, strange dog joining her world, but the two are taking their time and adjusting to one another. Evie also has a strong prey drive, and with plenty of animals around to watch, she certainly has a lot to keep her busy!

Thank you, Tracey, for opening your heart and home to Evie and giving her the loving home she so deserves. We couldn’t be happier that this sweet girl has found her forever family!
