Welcome to the North Jersey Ramapo Chapter of the Adirondack Mountain Club, a Hudson Valley (NY/NJ) based outdoor recreation and conservation group.

We sponsor three to four hikes weekly throughout the year in the scenic and historic Hudson Valley region of New York and New Jersey. We are a chapter of the Adirondack Mountain Club which is celebrating its 100 year anniversary in 2022.

A beautiful day for hiking in Ramapo Mountain State Forest. Twelve of us went up to Twin Hill and back, a total of 6.5 miles. The hike leader made only two wrong turns, keeping the "bonus miles" to less than 0.5.

We had beautiful weather for today's hike in Norvin Green, up to the High Point, down to Chikahoki Falls, then looping back. A total of 7.2 miles and 1400 foot elevation gain. With the NY AT series completed, many of the regular Tuesday hiking crowd were back together. Thanks to Robert Zachowski for leading. Photographer: George Foulke.

CONGRATULATIONS, APPALACHIAN TRAIL – NEW YORK SERIES FINISHERS!
A huge congratulations to Z, Maria V, Sandie B, and Anastasia T for completing the Appalachian Trail – New York Series! What an accomplishment! Our dedication, perseverance, and love of hiking have brought us to this wonderful milestone. Every mile, every climb, and every step has been part of an incredible journey. We did it!

To all our ADK North Jersey–Ramapo hikers who are close to finishing: Don't give up now! Keep arranging your missing hikes, coordinating with fellow hikers, and checking off those final miles. You are SO close! Every hike brings you closer to achieving your goal.

Once you complete your series, please email Bob with your completion information so we can keep track of our finishers and celebrate everyone's accomplishments together!

Let's celebrate as a TEAM at our ADK North Jersey–Ramapo Holiday Celebration on December 13! What better way to end the year than by celebrating our hard work, friendship, adventures, and the amazing trails we've conquered together?

An enjoyable hike on the less traveled Terrace Pond North Loop in Wawayanda NJ. We were a week or two early for the foliage, but had nice cool weather for hiking.

Four of us completed the final leg of our walk along the NY Appalachian Trail, a total span of roughly 90 miles. This final leg was 7.5 miles, ending in Connecticut. After a weekend of rain, the water crossing near the end was quite turbulent. Two of us didn't quite make it across without getting our boots and feet wet. But basking in the warmth of our accomplishment more than offset the ickiness of wet feet! 😀
