Meet Katie, our Dreamer Coordinator!
Katie was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 2006 and has been part of camp life since she was just 10 years old. Camp quickly became her favorite place, and now she’s helping create that same magic for our youngest campers at Camp Morris, the Dreamers!

When she’s treating a low, you can usually find her reaching for her stash of fruit snacks. Outside of camp, Katie loves to read and write. Fun fact: she published her very first short story when she was a junior in high school!
We are so lucky to have Katie sharing her passion, creativity, and love for camp with our Dreamers community!

Meet Erika — Camp Morris Clinical Director
Erika has been working with the T1D community since 2013 and helps support the emotional and mental well-being of our campers and staff throughout the week. She loves reading, hiking, organizing, and is also a champion hula hooper! We’re so excited for campers and families to get to know her this summer.

For so many campers, Camp Morris becomes the first place they feel fully seen, understood, and confident in who they are. Erika plays an incredible role in creating that sense of belonging and support. Helping campers build resilience, connection, and memories that stay with them long after camp ends. We’re so grateful she’ll be part of the Camp Morris experience this summer!

Meet Jeremy, Camp Morris Medical Director

Jeremy has been part of the T1D community since 1992 and helps lead our incredible medical team at camp. He loves running, fruit gummies for low snacks, and says if he ever did stand up comedy, it would definitely include impressions of his grandmother. We’re so grateful for the care, experience, and humor he brings to camp each summer!

Camp Morris is made possible by leaders who care deeply about every camper who walks through our doors. Because of people like Jeremy, campers leave feeling safer, stronger, more confident, and truly understood — and that impact lasts far beyond one week at camp. We cannot wait for another unforgettable summer together!

Meet Emily, our Camp Morris Camp Director!

Emily’s Camp Morris journey started as a camper and has grown into leading the entire camp program today. Living with T1D herself for nearly 20 years, Emily is passionate about creating a camp experience where every camper feels confident, connected, and supported. When she’s not at camp, you can probably find her biking, making pottery, or adding to her rock collection from hiking adventures!

For Emily, Camp Morris is more than just a summer camp, it’s a place where kids living with T1D can feel understood, build lifelong friendships, and discover they’re never alone in their journey. Leaders like Emily are what make Camp Morris so special, and we cannot wait to welcome campers back for another unforgettable summer together!

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who has taken the time to complete surveys as part of our HundredX campaign.

Your persistence and willingness to share your opinions have already helped The Diabetes Family Connection raise more than $1,900 to support programs that bring our community together and provide hope, connection, and support to families navigating life with type 1 diabetes.

Every survey completed helps ensure that no family faces type 1 diabetes alone. Thank you for making a meaningful difference in the lives of children, adults, and caregivers across our community.
