The NJFMBA is now on LinkedIn!

Our new page gives us another platform to highlight the work of our members, share important updates, promote training and education, recognize our locals, and continue telling the story of New Jersey’s career firefighters, EMTs, dispatchers, fire inspectors, and emergency service professionals.

It also creates another opportunity for members to network, connect with other FMBA members, and stay engaged with the work being done across the state.

Be sure to follow the NJFMBA on LinkedIn and connect with us as we continue expanding our voice, our reach, and our presence!

It was a strong night for the NJ FMBA and for the value of having working professionals involved in the decisions that shape our communities.

The FMBA has always encouraged members to be engaged in the process. When firefighters, EMTs, and dispatchers bring their real-world experience into public service, it helps ensure the voices of first responders and working families are represented where important decisions are made.

Congratulations to Joe Frain and Abdur Yasin on their successful primary election victories!

We are proud to see FMBA members continuing their commitment to public service, both on the job and in their communities. Their willingness to step forward and serve in these roles reflects the leadership, dedication, and professionalism that define our membership!

Primary Elections are being held across New Jersey on June 2, and the NJFMBA is proud to endorse several candidates who have proven they support our mission, our members, and the best interests of New Jersey’s firefighters, EMTs, dispatchers, and first responders.

Election season brings plenty of noise, and not every political attack tells the full story. We encourage our members to understand who the NJFMBA supports, why we support them, and to be cautious of misleading or inaccurate attacks designed to distract from the facts.

Our endorsements are based on record, relationships, and a demonstrated commitment to the issues that matter to our membership and the communities we serve.

Earlier this month, the NJFMBA May Monthly Meeting was held at the New Jersey Firemen’s Home. We want to sincerely thank the staff and residents for their hospitality and for welcoming our membership once again!

A major highlight of the meeting was the unanimous vote to welcome our newest local into the NJFMBA family, Local 439 – North Haledon Communications. We are proud to officially welcome them into the organization and look forward to their involvement and representation moving forward!

We’re now looking ahead to our June meeting at Forest Lodge, which will be followed by the 2026 Annual NJ FMBA Mario Rossi Memorial Picnic. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time through your Local Representative or online at https://www.njfmba.org/picnic.

These meetings continue to bring locals together, share important information, and keep members actively engaged in the issues impacting our union across the state. Hope to see everyone there!

The fight to recognize EMS as an essential service continues tomorrow!

The EMS Essential Services legislation, A1008, will be heard at 1:00 PM before the Assembly Public Safety and Preparedness Committee.

This NJ FMBA initiative is about strengthening emergency response across New Jersey and making sure every community has access to reliable basic life support and ambulance service.

EMS is essential every day. Our work continues, and we will keep pushing this legislation forward for our members, our patients, and the residents of New Jersey.

Stay engaged and continue to support A1008!

Today we remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to this country. Their sacrifice secured the freedoms we live with every day and protected the values we hold close as Americans.

Memorial Day is a reminder that freedom has never been free. We pause today in gratitude for those who made the ultimate sacrifice and for the families who continue to carry that loss.
