An excerpt from today's show with Candi Carley-Roth at the Rainbow Room Wurlitzer! She really knows how to get the audience clapping along!

Today, we enjoyed Candi Carley-Roth's great performance on the Rainbow Room Wurlitzer! Candi performed music from a wide range of genres spanning the decades in her signature style. She even brought along a Howard seat which made for a rare photo opportunity of the historic console!

The theme was "Pizza & Pipes" referencing Candi's time performing in pizza joints and the audience enjoyed pizza, cookies and ice cream sandwiches! Thank you to GSTOS member Jill Fraser, for organizing these food themed events as a way to build our audiences, and to members Nina Heitz, Barbara Bacon, Nancy Wojciak and Robin Fox for helping serve the large audience!

The next free First Thursday concert will be on September 3rd at 2pm with "Pretzels & Pipes"! We hope to see you there!

On May 7th, we enjoyed a "First Thursday" concert by Jeff Mazza at the Rainbow Room Wurlitzer! Jeff also performed a few pieces on the Senior Center’s new Korg digital piano donated by GSTOS members Robin and Michael Fox. In addition to the music, he entertained the audience with stories from his years of running the now online-only Royal Music in Toms River, NJ.

Jeff has played over 500 solo concerts over a 30‑year period. He never profited from these shows, with the proceeds donated to the local chapter of the American Cancer Society including this show!

The audience also enjoyed this month’s theme of “Pies & Pipes” which included a selection of pies, ice cream and fruit. Thank you to GSTOS member Jill Fraser for conceiving and organizing these food-themed events!

Next month's "First Thursday" concert will be on June 4th at 2:00PM at the Rahway Senior Center with Ian Fraser performing. Next month's theme will be “Party & Pipes!" to celebrate the organist’s birthday!
