Today we join our friends of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated and honor Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, as an historic moment in American history. On June 19, 1865, news of the Emancipation Proclamation finally reached the last enslaved individuals in Galveston, Texas, marking the true beginning of freedom for all.

We proudly recognize the efforts of our own friend, Friend Opal Lee, the “Grandmother of Juneteenth,” whose unwavering advocacy helped make Juneteenth a federally recognized holiday in 2021.

Today, we celebrate emancipation, reflect on our ancestors’ strength and resilience, and recommit to the work of advancing justice, equity, and unity. Through education, action, and solidarity, we move closer to a world rooted in true freedom for all.

We stood alongside our friends, the Thriving Tenacious Tau Zeta Chapter, as they proudly hosted their Annual Women on the Move Recognition Program. This special event honored five outstanding women of Gadsden County who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, service, and dedication to their communities.

These remarkable women continue to use their unique gifts and talents to positively impact the lives of others. Through their commitment, achievements, and unwavering service, they are making a meaningful difference and serving as shining examples of excellence, empowerment, and community leadership.

Congratulations to all of the honorees on this well-deserved recognition!

What an amazing and memorable experience for the Zeta Amicae and Friends as we visited our International Headquarters (IHQ) in Washington, D.C.!

It was truly an honor to walk through the halls of our beloved organization, reflect on our rich history, and celebrate the legacy of sisterhood, friendship, and service that continues to inspire us. The visit reminded us of the impact we make when we work together in the spirit of Z-HOPE and community service.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this visit special. We will cherish the memories, fellowship, and pride we shared during this unforgettable journey.
