Gadsden County SWAT

Gadsden County SWAT SWAT is Florida's statewide youth organization working to mobilize, educate and equip Florida youth to revolt against and de-glamorize Big To***co.

We are a united movement of empowered youth working towards a to***co free future. SWAT is made up of students just like you throughout all of Gadsden County, and even across the state. When you join SWAT, you get a chance to meet some really cool people who care about the same things you do--protecting youth from to***co, learning more about policy change, and working on becoming an awesome youth

leader. SWAT clubs are run by STUDENTS. YOU pick what the clubs do to reach your own goals--how cool is that??

Good luck to you all as you continue to do great work for this county and know you have the skills needed to make the dream of a To***co Free Gadsden a reality. Thank you for the opportunity to serve as your SWAT Coordinator! -Katie

The estimated $800 million/year this tax will raise will go towards cancer research. Australia is proposing some of the strictest regulations on cigarette packages that we've ever seen. If the courts approve the plain-packaging laws, Australia will be the first country to ban colors, logos, and unique branding on cigarette cartons. This could help pave the way for other countries--including our own--to do the same. Read more here: http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052702304299304577349063837454118.html %3Darticle

Australia's highest court Tuesday began hearing a challenge from big to***co companies to tough new plain-packaging laws due to come into effect later this year, in a legal battle being closely watched internationally.

To***co accounts for about 80% of lung cancer diagnoses in women, but it can sometimes take upwards of twenty years from when a smoker first starts using to***co to notice any symptoms of this number one cancer among both women and men in our country. Read more about rising lung cancer rates in women in this article: http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/health-and-families/health-news/lung-cancer-rates-in-women-are-rising-7642888.html
