What an accomplishment! Best of luck Clayton ❤️

I am thrilled to join all of Dutchess County in rooting for our very own Clayton DeClemente as he heads to the Winter Olympics next week! Clayton will be representing Team USA in Short Track Speed Skating (competing in the 1,000m and 1,500m events).
Many of you might remember Clayton as a 2017 graduate of Arlington High School. Long before he was training at the Olympic Oval, he was a local kid who found his passion for speed right here in the Hudson Valley. He actually started out playing roller hockey at age 8. As the story goes, he was so fast on his skates that his mom suggested he give speed skating a try.
He took that talent from the local rinks to Salt Lake City, and now, he’s taking it to Milan! Clayton’s journey from a Poughkeepsie student to an Olympian is a powerful reminder that with hard work and determination, there are no limits to what our Dutchess County youth can achieve.
