September is Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness about how alcohol exposure during pregnancy can affect a baby's developing brain and body.

While FASD can look different for everyone it affects, one fact remains clear: there is no known safe amount of alcohol during pregnancy.

If you’re pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or think you could be pregnant, avoiding alcohol is one of the first steps you can take to protect your baby’s health.

Together, we can promote awareness, support, and take meaningful steps toward healthier pregnancies and healthier futures. 💙

Did you know that International Overdose Awareness Day is marking its 25th anniversary today?

Overdose is preventable. Through timely access to care and support, education, harm reduction strategies, and life-saving interventions, we have proven tools to reduce harm and save lives.

Today, we honor the dedication of those who have carried this important work forward for more than 25 years. We also invite more people into the conversation — to learn, to speak openly, and to respond with compassion.

Because while International Overdose Awareness Day remains an important reminder, it does not have to be needed forever.

Together, we can build a future where fewer lives are lost, support is accessible to everyone who needs it, and one day this global day of remembrance is no longer necessary.

Transitions can be uncomfortable, emotional, exciting, and exhausting—all at the same time.

But growth often happens in those in-between moments.

As you head into a new season, remember:
✔ You don't have to have everything figured out.
✔ It's okay to ask for help.
✔ Healthy coping skills matter.
✔ Staying connected matters.

Give yourself grace. You're still growing, and that's something to be proud of.

Major life transitions can take a toll on mental health.

According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), staying connected to supportive people is one of the most powerful protective factors for emotional well-being.

If you're feeling overwhelmed, reach out to a parent, teacher, counselor, coach, or another trusted adult. A simple conversation can make life's challenges feel more manageable.

You don't have to navigate life's transitions alone.

Big life changes can bring big emotions. That's why having healthy ways to cope with stress is so important.

According to the American Psychological Association, healthy coping strategies can help regulate emotions, reduce feelings of overwhelm, and build resilience.

Try one of these:
🎧 Listen to music
🏃 Get moving
📝 Write in a journal
🌳 Spend time outdoors
💬 Talk to someone you trust

Remember, asking for support and taking care of your mental health are signs of strength.

Life transitions often bring changes in friendships, and that isn't always easy. It's okay for friendships to grow, change, or even come to an end.

The healthiest friendships are built on respect, support, and the freedom to be yourself.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), positive peer relationships are associated with better mental health outcomes for young people.

Surround yourself with people who encourage you to grow, support your well-being, and help you become your best self.

The first few weeks of school can feel overwhelming.

Give yourself permission to adjust instead of expecting everything to fall into place right away.

New routines take time. New friendships take time. Confidence takes time.

Growth isn't about perfection — it's about progress.
