Birchtree supports individuals with autism and other diverse abilities by providing personalized education and outreach programs that promote inclusion, independence, and holistic growth. Our staff travels over 100,000 miles per year to serve students in their schools and family homes. For students who need even more intensive support, Birchtree’s day school in Portsmouth is the only year-round sc

hool in New Hampshire that serves students with autism exclusively. Students travel up to two hours per day every day to attend this year-round, individualized program. It's staffed by autism experts known for their ability to help students with significant behavioral and communication challenges.

Our field trip to Canobie Lake Park was a total success! Birchtree students and staff enjoyed a day in the sun, riding roller coasters and soaring through the sky on the swings! 🎢

For many Birchtree students, their very first theme-park visit is on a Birchtree field trip. It’s more than a classic rite of passage---it’s an incredible opportunity to learn.

Our autism experts provide one-on-one support, allowing students to learn how to safely navigate these busy, exciting places. When students have these essential community-access skills, their whole family benefits. Many families are able to enjoy more trips together---thanks to skills their children learned from Birchtree! ✨💚

Find your dream job on our amazing Birchtree Outreach team! You'll receive outstanding year-round benefits and FREE training, supervision, and certification to become a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). Previous experience is not required--we encourage individuals with a strong desire to learn to apply.

As a member of our fun and energetic Outreach team, you'll work one-on-one with students with autism and other diverse abilities in Rochester/Somersworth-area public schools. You'll receive extensive training and ongoing support from Birchtree's Board Certified Behavior Analysts. You can work year round or enjoy a 10-week summer break while continuing to receive your incredible Birchtree benefits!

The Nook, Birchtree's school store, is just one of the many places where our students build real-world vocational and life skills!

Students who run the store take on responsibilities such as greeting customers, filling customers' orders, operating the cash register, calculating change, and stocking the store. Students and staff also enjoy shopping for treats and drinks at The Nook.
