Edmarc Unlike adult hospice, where life-saving treatment ceases and the end is certain, Edmarc offers hope. The minister's name was Edward; the boy's name was Marcus.

Established in 1978, Edmarc was the first hospice in the nation designed specifically for children. Edmarc is the only pediatric hospice organization in Hampton Roads. Edmarc was founded by the members of Suffolk Presbyterian Church in Suffolk, Virginia, along with their minister who was dying of cancer, and a young couple whose only son was dying of a progressive neuromuscular disease. The agency

is named in their memory. In 1982, Edmarc Hospice for Children received a $300,000 grant from the Birthday Offering of the Presbyterian Women. This generous community gift funded the development and expansion of our hospice, home health care, and bereavement support services. Edmarc now serves a wide geographic area that includes the Virginia Peninsula and all of southside Hampton Roads.

📢Calling aspiring campers!

Camp M.A.G.I.C., our family grief camp, is happening this weekend, and we are in need of additional volunteers!

👪We need a family buddy volunteer, to support and walk alongside a family throughout the weekend.

👷🏾‍♀️We also need a couple volunteers to help out on the logistics team and pitch in where needed.

🐊 Throughout the month of August, all eight AJ Gator’s locations have been supporting Edmarc through two different fundraisers!

🪙 Gator Round-Up: Go enjoy a delicious meal and round up your change when you pay. All change will be donated directly to Edmarc!

⏰ Monday Magic: Forget about cooking! Last chance to eat at AJ’s from 6pm-9pm when 10% of sales will be donated to Edmarc.

We are so excited to share that we raised over $100,000 with Edmarc's Annual Charity Golf Classic! Players, sponsors, staff, and volunteers enjoyed a beautiful day on the course, partaking in delicious food, hearing compelling stories from Edmarc families, and playing golf. We are grateful to Cedar Point Club for helping us pull off a first class tournament, and to our outstanding Presenting Sponsor One Hour Heating and Air Conditioning for making this crucial fundraiser possible!

We’re excited to be part of MissionFest at Frothy Moon Brewhouse this Sunday! 💛

In celebration of National Nonprofit Day, we’ll be joining 8 other local nonprofits for an afternoon dedicated to celebrating the incredible work happening right here in our community.

Stop by between 1:00 and 4:00 to meet our team, learn more about what we do, discover resources available in Williamsburg, and connect with some of the other organizations working hard to make a difference in the lives of our neighbors.

And because a good community gathering should be fun, too, Nathan Lienard will be providing live music throughout the afternoon, and Cousins Maine Lobster will be serving up lunch starting at 12:00. 🦞🎶

Come grab some food, enjoy a pint, listen to some music, and meet the people behind some of the important work happening right here at home.
