Instructor Debra Carus, will show you how to crush your stone into various sized pieces to create a field of color or mosaic effects in your jewelry. Starting with a recessed metal design, similar to champleve enameling, students will fill their pieces with the gem fragments and once complete polish everything into a beautiful shiny finish.

Refined. Classic. Vibrant. 🌑🔥

Nature has always been a major inspiration for Deborah Spencer (deborahspencerdesigns.com), whose Whidbey Island studio boasts a magnificent view of mountains and sea. Her custom projects are meticulously crafted by hand from responsibly sourced gems and precious metals. Deborah’s bold but timeless pieces meld organic forms into classical shapes with standout patterns and textures. Check out her work at this year’s Gathering of the Guilds at the Oregon Convention Center, April 24th - 26th.

Graceful. Timeless. Emblematic. 🌑🔥

Kari Phillips’ () early career in fine art museums was the foundation for her explorative homage to ancient emblems and modern art movements. Each piece is handcrafted in her Portland, Oregon studio, fabricated with consideration toward revival and originality; form and material; intent and the wearer. As art is a reflection of time, jewelry is a reflection of self. Inspired by the vastness of art, her pieces are a historical homage, intended to communicate individuality and a distinct personal point of view. You can engage with Kari’s work at this year’s Gathering of the Guilds at the Oregon Convention Center, this weekend, April 24th - 26th.

Vibrant. Elegant. Distinctive. 🌑🔥

Mary Wong () has been a designer and goldsmith for 40 years. She studied under Max Nixon at the University of Oregon, whose unstructured program encouraged a sense of freedom and creativity that Mary carried forward into her jewelry development. Mostly self-taught beyond school, Mary established the popular jewelry store Trios Studio with fellow CMAG members Kathe Mai and Deborah Spencer and has since moved on to focus on creating brilliant and beautiful heirloom pieces with baroque pearls and show-stopping gemstones. Prepare to stop at Mary’s booth at this year’s Gathering of the Guilds at the Oregon Convention Center, April 24th - 26th.
