This photo was taken by our Director of Religious Education while she participated in the National Eucharistic Pilgrimage in St. Augustine in May 2026. You'll see that there are more people here with brown, red, and blond hair than there are people who are bald or with white or grey hair. The Catholic Church is young, thriving, and forever relevant.

Have you been asking the bigger questions about life, faith, and meaning? 🤔

Whether you’ve never been baptized, are from another Christian tradition, or are a "cradle Catholic" who missed receiving some of your Sacraments, you belong here.

OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults) is not a test—it is a relaxed, welcoming space to explore the Catholic faith, ask your toughest questions, and build meaningful community along the way.

✨ Our Next Inquiry Series Starts: August 2026, Thursdays at 7pm

The Holy Family Council of Catholic Women has started a new way to serve and minister. All are welcome-- even beginners!-- to join our Knitters and Crocheters on Thursday afternoons at 1:00pm in the Parish Hall. Ministries like this make blankets for newborns, for babies being baptized, and for older folk. Come and see how you can serve!

US Catholics are celebrating our nation’s semiquincentennial this year- it is the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Our history is influenced by a few important Catholic forefathers and saints, including Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton.

❤️Just two years before the signing of our Declaration of Independence, little Elizabeth Ann Bayley was born in the American colonies, in New York City on August 28, 1774, to a prominent Episcopal family.
🤍 At the age of 19, Elizabeth married William Magee Seton, wealthy businessman in the import trade. He brought his family to Italy where he worked.
💙 After discovering Catholicism in Italy Elizabeth returned to the United States and entered the Catholic Church in 1805 in New York.
❤️ As a young widow, Elizabeth moved to Emmitsburg, Maryland, where she founded the Sisters of Charity of St. Joseph’s, the first community for apostolic, religious women established in the United States.
🤍 Mother Seton also began St. Joseph’s School, planting the first seeds of Catholic education in the United States.
💙 Elizabeth Ann Seton was canonized on Sunday, September 14, 1975, in St. Peter’s Square by Pope Paul VI. She was the first citizen born in the United States to be given the title of “saint.”

❤️🤍💙Consider spending your vacation on pilgrimage this year! This saint’s remains are entombed in Emmitsburg in the Basilica at the National Shrine that bears her name. The Revolutionary War-era Dobbin House Tavern in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, is only a 20-minute car ride away from the shrine, and so are the beautiful Catoctin Mountain Park, featuring hiking, trout fishing, and panoramic views from Chimney Rock.

Staying with the Revolutionary War theme, Baltimore and Emmitsburg are relatively close (about 56 miles apart) and Baltimore and Carrollton/Annapolis are even closer (about 40 miles). Discover the Catholic churches and homes of the Carrollton family; the Most Rev. John Carroll was the first Catholic bishop in the United States (who founded our nation’s first Catholic university), and his first cousin Charles Carroll was the only Catholic signer of the Declaration of Independence.

These are faces you should recognize -- congratulations to all graduates, but particularly to these three high school graduates who have given our parish Holy Family HUNDREDS of hours of volunteer service over their lifetimes. We thank them as well as their support network -- their families, supportive parishioners, and ministry leadership who have encouraged their faith and participation along the way. MK, Felix, and Charles, you were formed by God's love to give generously and serve faithfully. May He guide your next steps and bless your bright future. Have fun and bring joy into your new "mission fields" at college and career!

MK joined the parish while she was preparing for her First Holy Communion. Participating in the Religious Education Program for a total of nine years, she tried out almost every liturgical ministry; she served as an altar server, lector, and usher, but really found her calling in the Young People's Choir. MK was confirmed here at the parish and was awarded the Council of Catholic Women’s Golden Rose award. MK is also an award-winning equestrian, Sheriff Explorer, and academic: she earned her high school diploma with High Honors along with her associate degree in biology. MK is planning to stay local to continue her education, so you will definitely have a chance to congratulate her in person at Mass. MK, we are excited to see where God leads you. St. Dymphna, pray for her!

Felix was a student in the Holy Family Religious Education Program for seven years. As soon as he received his First Holy Communion, Felix began serving the altar of God at the 12 noon Mass, rarely missing a Sunday. As a sixth-grader during COVID-19, Felix voraciously read the entire Bible, cover to cover. During his Confirmation preparation, he considered a call to Holy Orders. The virtuous way of living he adopted early on empowered Felix to persist through challenges. He clocked more than 500 volunteer hours during his high school tenure, many of them here in ministry work at Holy Family. He and his family are also active members of the Filipino Ministry, through which he and his younger sister initiated the “Books for Philippines” project and continue the “Bread Ministry.” His perseverance and faith helped him to earn High Honors while achieving his International Baccalaureate. For now, Felix will be continuing his education at a Florida university as he discerns God's will for his life. Praying for your continued success, Felix. St. Michael the Archangel, pray for him!

Charles also studied in the Holy Family Religious Education Program for seven years, all of it post-First Communion working toward Confirmation. With prayer and by the grace of God, Charles persisted through challenges and stayed the course, never giving up his faith formation because ‘he didn’t have time’ or because ‘he had other activities.’ Since his Confirmation in 2023, Charles has played the flute at the 10am Mass. This summer he will begin attending a university here in Florida. He will major in Biomedical Science with the intent to pursue an M.D. in Radiology and gain employment as a specialized Neuroradiologist. Best wishes and prayers, Charles. You’ve got this—you’ve got a strong team behind you! St. Carlo Acutis, pray for him!
