Kitsap Rescue Mission

Kitsap Rescue Mission Located in Kitsap, KRM provides reliable, welcoming shelter to vulnerable individuals. They are food, shelter and safety.

With every individual that is in distress, there are three basic needs that must be met first. Without these three items in place nothing else matters. KRM has been providing the first item, food, since its inception in 2009. In 2011 we took a bigger role to meet the other two basic need of shelter and safety. Today, we are operating a 24 hour shelter, providing our guests with more opportunity th

an ever before. If you're looking for a way to be on the mission with us and would like to volunteer, please email [email protected].

The work we do at the Kitsap Rescue Mission is life changing. YOU, our community of supporters and donors help make that happen by donations to the Mission.

Thank you for that.

There are many ways to financially support the Mission. Many people are now choosing to support the work by donating via their Donor Advised Fund (DAF). For more information and all the ways to give, please take a look at our donation page on our website.

On Monday, August 10th in the morning, a team of volunteers from Central Kitsap Presbyterian Church in Silverdale arrived at the Pacific Building in Port Orchard. They provided much needed assistance in tidying up the landscape at the shelter. Their volunteering was a part of their "Week of Service".

It's a large property, and we so appreciate the volunteers that help us to keep the outside looking sharp. Many hands make light work!

Interested in becoming a KRM volunteer, or have a team from your work or church that would like to help with various opportunities? You can fill out an application on our website.

Introducing "The Catio" at the Pacific Building, for the guests' use to bring their cats outside and have a little off-leash outdoor time.

The Catio was planned & purchased by KARE (Kitsap Animal Rescue Education).

By the Book Construction loaned use of their truck, driven by author/speaker Lyle Skillman, who picked up the paver aggregate which was generously donated by Morrison Gravel.

Volunteers from KARE, Kitsap Rescue Mission, Sycamore Church, and Tessera were led by local veterinarian Ryan Reusch in site prep, laying the paver foundation, and assembly.

We are so thankful for collective impact projects that bring the community together to make the lives of the guests and their pets better during their stay at the Pacific Building.

Are there unused musical instruments hiding in your closet, the basement, the attic or your garage? Would you like to move them on for a good cause?

Kitsap Rescue Mission is gathering donated items for our guests to use while they are staying at the Pacific Building. On September 4th, the first "Music Jam" will be held, after the instruments will be available for guest use.

They are needed by Friday, August 21st so that they can be cleaned and if needed, repaired for the event on September 4th.

Here are the instruments/equipment that would be great to have:

Karaoke machine or mic and speakers
Hand drums
Djembes
Tambourines
Cajon
Bongos
Ashiko
Shakers
Maracas
Ukeleles
Kazoos
Guitars (2-4)
Violin

Nathan Light, KRM's on site MSW is coordinating the event, and can be contacted for donations and questions. His email is [email protected]. Donation receipts will be provided.

Are you curious about estate planning? This informative session is tomorrow, and this is a reminder to sign up if you'd like to attend.

Need a place where you can learn and ask questions with no obligation?

✅Why estate planning matters – and why so many of us put it off
✅The four estate planning documents everyone should have
✅Wills, and how they help you maintain control of your assets during your lifetime
✅Trusts, and how they can save on taxes while passing down assets
✅Donor-advised funds, which offer an immediate tax benefit while letting you support causes on your own timeline
✅How to create your will for free in just 20 minutes

Want to bring a spouse, child, other family member, and/or your financial advisor to join the conversation? You are encouraged to!
