๐Ÿ› ๏ธWHEN PLANS CHANGE, THE MISSION TO HELP DOESNโ€™T!๐ŸŒณ

In Milton, FL, recovery from Hurricane Isaias means being ready to roll up your sleeves wherever help is needed. ToolBank Disaster Services Director Bill Hess joined Pastor Laura from the Faith Responders and student volunteers from St. Andrews Bay STEM Academy to tackle fallen trees and clear debris where the Faith Responders are staying.๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿ’ช

The group originally planned to help with a meal distribution, but when cleanup needs took priority, they pivoted and got to work. That's the spirit and flexibility that goes into disaster response: seeing a need, adapting, and showing up for one another.๐Ÿค๐Ÿชš

A HUGE THANK YOU to Faith Responders for their continued service to communities impacted by this hurricane, and to Mrs. Vickers, Principal of St. Andrews Bay STEM Academy, for allowing these students to volunteer, helping make this hands-on service opportunity possible. And to all the student volunteers, thank you for bringing your energy and compassion to help the community recover.๐Ÿ‘

๐ŸŽ“ A little about St. Andrews Bay STEM Academy: This college-prep, STEM-focused private high school makes academics hands-on, fun, and affordable. Students don't just learn; they experience education in unique, engaging ways. What a great example of putting learning into action and making a difference beyond the classroom!๐Ÿ”ฌ๐Ÿงฐ

When disaster strikes, recovery takes teamwork, flexibility, and people willing to step up wherever they're needed.๐Ÿ› ๏ธ๐Ÿ’™

๐ŸชฃCOMMUNITY IN ACTION: SHOWING UP WHEN IT MATTERS MOST!๐Ÿ’™

The impact of partnership was on full display in Milton, FL, as ToolBank Disaster Services and Catholic Charities of Northwest Florida came together to help residents recover from Hurricane Isaias.

Thanks to Grainger's generosity and the support of our disaster relief partners, residents received 800 disaster-relief buckets packed with essential cleanup supplies, plus 222 shovels to help tackle the storm's debris.๐Ÿ› ๏ธ๐Ÿ’ช

The turnout was incredible! Check out these photos showing stacks of buckets ready to go, volunteers loading supplies into vehicles, and a line of cars filled with community members ready to begin cleanup.

๐Ÿ“Š Here's what this distribution meant for the community:

๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ 1,706 individuals reached
๐Ÿง‘ 1,175 adults
๐Ÿšธ 531 children

Behind every number is a person, a family, and a community working toward recovery.๐Ÿ˜๏ธ

The storm may pass, but recovery takes a community. We're proud to be part of it.๐Ÿ› ๏ธ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿ”ฅA POST-STORM REMINDER: HAZARDS CAN IGNITE IN AN INSTANT.โš ๏ธ

While supporting Hurricane Isaias recovery efforts in Milton, FL, ToolBank Disaster Services Director Bill Hess captured footage of a fire that broke out when a leaking generator ignited flammable liquids, setting nearby brush ablaze.

Thankfully, first responders arrived quickly and extinguished the flames before the fire could spread to surrounding trees, homes, and businesses. We are grateful for their swift action and dedication to keeping the community safe!๐Ÿš’๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿš’๐Ÿ‘

As cleanup efforts continue across impacted communities, please remain vigilant and follow local safety guidance.

ToolBank is proud to support the volunteers and organizations helping with cleanup, and we're thankful for the first responders who help keep those communities safe.๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ› ๏ธ

๐ŸŒ€THE STORM HAS PASSED, BUT THE DANGERS HAVENโ€™T.๐Ÿ› ๏ธ

ToolBank Disaster Services Director Bill Hess is in Milton, FL, teaming up with Faith Responders to get tools into the hands of volunteers working hard to clean up after Hurricane Isaias.๐Ÿ’ช

But while flying his drone in the area, Bill came across a fire caused by a leaking generator. Thankfully, first responders extinguished it before it spread to nearby structures.๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ™

This is an important reminder that even after the winds die down, serious hazards can remain. As communities begin cleanup and recovery, please take extra precautions to protect yourself, your family, and your neighbors.

โš ๏ธ POST-HURRICANE SAFETY REMINDERS

๐Ÿ”Œ Generator safety: Never operate a generator indoors, in a garage, or near windows and doors. Keep it outdoors at least 20 feet from your home, and never refuel it while running or hot. Check for fuel leaks before use.

โšก Downed power lines: Stay far away from fallen wires and anything touching them. Assume every downed line is energized and report it to your utility company or emergency services.

๐ŸŒณ Fallen trees and debris: Watch for unstable trees, hanging branches, nails, broken glass, and other sharp objects. Leave dangerous tree removal to trained professionals.

๐ŸŒŠ Floodwater: Avoid flooded roads and standing water, which may conceal hazards or contain sewage and other contaminants. Never drive through floodwaters.

๐Ÿ  Structural damage: Stay out of buildings that appear unstable or have significant damage until authorities say they are safe.

๐Ÿงค Protect yourself during cleanup: Wear sturdy, closed-toe boots, heavy-duty gloves, eye protection, and other appropriate protective equipment. Take breaks and stay hydrated.

๐Ÿงน Mold and contaminated materials: Use appropriate protection when handling wet materials, and avoid disturbing suspected asbestos or other hazardous substances.

โค๏ธ Look out for one another: Check on neighbors who may need assistance, but never put yourself in danger trying to help.

ToolBank Disaster Services is proud to work alongside partners like Faith Responders to support volunteers and communities through recovery. Our tools help people get to work safely.๐Ÿฆบ๐Ÿงค๐Ÿฅฝ

Please stay alert, follow local emergency guidance, and remember that recovery is a marathon, not a sprint.๐Ÿ› ๏ธ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿชฃ800 DISASTER-RELIEF BUCKETS. ONE COMMUNITY. A POWERFUL PARTNERSHIP.๐ŸŒ€๐Ÿ’™

Milton, FL, is facing extensive cleanup following Hurricane Isaias, with downed trees and debris impacting the community. Today, ToolBank Disaster Services is teaming up with Catholic Charities of Northwest Florida to help residents take the next step toward recovery.

ToolBank Disaster Services Director Bill Hess joined Matthew Knee, President & CEO of Catholic Charities of Northwest Florida, to highlight today's distribution of 800 Grainger disaster-relief buckets at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Milton.๐Ÿ› ๏ธ๐Ÿชฃ

Packed with essential cleanup supplies and tools, these buckets will help residents tackle debris and begin putting their communities back together.

As Catholic Charities approaches its 100th anniversary, Matthew shared an important reminder: approximately 90% of the people they serve are non-Catholic. Their services are for everyone, and all are welcome!๐Ÿ™โค๏ธ

This is what disaster recovery looks like: organizations coming together, sharing resources, and meeting communities where they are. No single organization can do it alone, but through strong partnerships, we can get critical supplies into the hands of people who need them most.

A HUGE THANK YOU to Grainger for providing these 800 disaster-relief buckets and to Catholic Charities of Northwest Florida for helping connect these resources with Milton residents. Your partnership is helping turn preparation into action and compassion into community recovery!๐Ÿ’ช

When disaster strikes, partnerships make the difference. ToolBank Disaster Services is proud to help communities recover, one tool and one helping hand at a time.๐Ÿ› ๏ธ๐Ÿ’™

๐Ÿ’•Itโ€™s Breast Cancer Awareness Month!๐Ÿ’•

This year, weโ€™re honoring the theme: โ€œEvery Story is Unique, Every Journey Matters.โ€๐Ÿ’—

๐Ÿ’žToday, and every day, we stand with those whose lives have been touched by breast cancer, including members of our ToolBank family.๐Ÿ’Letโ€™s celebrate their courage, strength, and hope, and remember that no one should face breast cancer alone.๐Ÿ’ž

๐Ÿ› ๏ธOut West, our tools are helping communities prepare for a safer future!๐ŸŒฟ

Since September, our West Coast Territory Manager, Art Garciacano, has been supporting a series of community cleanup events in Altadena, CA, where volunteers are rolling up their sleeves to clear brush and overgrown vegetation that can increase wildfire risk.๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿš’

As this need grew, ToolBank Disaster Services established a satellite location in Altadena to get essential tools and equipment into the hands of the people doing this important work. With resources closer to the community, we can better support ongoing cleanup efforts and help neighbors take action to build a safer, more resilient Altadena.๐Ÿ˜๏ธ๐Ÿค

Weโ€™re grateful to Art and all the community partners working together to support recovery and wildfire preparedness. When communities have the tools they need, incredible things happen!๐Ÿงฐ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ

๐Ÿ“ธ Take a look at these photos from a recent cleanup event with ToolBank tools and our new Altadena satellite location!

๐ŸŒ€THE STORM HAS PASSED, AND THE WORK OF RECOVERY BEGINS!๐Ÿ› ๏ธ

Good news from Panama City...ToolBank Disaster Services Director Bill Hess is back at our warehouse following Hurricane Isaias, and we're thankful to report no damage to our facility!๐Ÿ™Œ

Now, Bill is connecting with our disaster relief partners to coordinate cleanup efforts and help impacted communities get back on their feet.๐Ÿค

๐ŸชฃNEED CLEANUP SUPPLIES? WE'RE READY TO HELP!

We will have Grainger disaster-relief buckets stocked with trash bags available to help community members tackle debris cleanup. We're working today to get essential supplies where they're needed most.

๐Ÿšš A BIG THANK YOU to Ford Philanthropy for providing the F-350 truck that will help Bill transport these supplies throughout the community. Your support helps us bring critical resources directly to the people who need them.

To everyone in the Florida Panhandle area, please continue to follow local guidance, watch for downed power lines and other hazards, and never enter floodwaters. Stay safe as cleanup gets underway!

The storm comes first. Recovery comes next. And ToolBank Disaster Services is here to help communities take that next step.๐Ÿ› ๏ธ๐Ÿ’™
