Poquoson Lions Club We Serve Our club is one of over 46,000 clubs worldwide, part of an international organization with over 1.3 million members in 193 countries!

The first Lion’s Club was formed in 1917, “You can’t get very far until you start doing something for somebody else”, was the personal code of the founder, Melvin Jones. The Poquoson Lions Club has been serving the community for 62 years, and was chartered in 1948 with the intent of offering people the opportunity to take an active interest in the civic, cultural, social and moral welfare of the c

ommunity. Our intent is to allow members to unite in the bonds of friendship, good fellowship and mutual understanding and to encourage service-minded people to serve their community. Our goal is to do together what one person could not do alone. As with all Lions Clubs our service projects concentrate on sight and hearing conservation, diabetes awareness and youth activities. However, we have and will always adapt to the needs or our community from providing assistance after Hurricane Isabel to helping needy families with basic subsistence. We're Updating Our Website!

The Poquoson Lions Club is working on a new website that will make it easier to learn about who we are, what we do in our community, and how you can get involved.

Our current website will remain available while we work on the new one.

Tomorrow's free vision screening will be the last one held at the library before school starts, so don't miss it!

The Poquoson Lions Club provides free vision screenings at the library for ages 6 months to 6 years old each month. The screening is useful in detecting vision issues for young children so that it does not impede their early learning abilities. The screening device is able to detect risk factors for amblyopia, refractive errors (the need for corrective lenses), and unequal vision.
Next visit 2-5pm tomorrow, July 14.

The Poquoson Lions Club will be selling America 250 Garden Flags and Sno-Cones at Poquoson’s All-American Picnic in the Park on Friday. Stop by and pick a cone and/or flag.
Below is a photo of the flags that are available for $5 and $10. Come early for the best selection and support your local Lions Club.
Every Sno-Cone or Flag you buy helps us provide free vision screenings for children and assists with the purchase of eye exams and eyeglasses for those in need.
