This Saturday is a great opportunity to get rid of chemicals and papers that have been taking up space around your house!

Join us for York County's final Household Chemical Collection event of the year on Saturday, September 13, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon! This event, hosted by VPPSA, is open to residents of Hampton, Poquoson, Williamsburg, James City County, and York County.

✅ Accepted Materials: Household chemicals (paints, fuels, solvents, pesticides, automotive products, etc.), as well as specific computer items like laptops, monitors, printers, and scanners. Please note: Televisions are not accepted.

🗂️ On-Site Paper Shredding: Bring up to 5 boxes of personal paperwork. No need to remove staples or paperclips, but binders, accordion files, and other metal objects are not allowed.
Location: 105 Service Drive, Yorktown
🔹 Proof of residency may be required. Stay in your vehicle; VPPSA staff will unload for you!

Leaves, grass clippings, and branches don’t belong in storm drains or ditches — they can clog drainage and pollute our waterways!

Here’s how to handle yard debris in York County:
✅ Curbside Pickup (for solid waste subscribers):
• Schedule 2 collections/month – just $25 each
• Up to 24 cubic yards per pickup
• Bag grass, leaves & straw in clear bags
• Branches: Max 8” diameter & 10’ in length

UPDATE FOR THE CLUSTER HOMES—You probably figured out already that recycling will be picked up tomorrow, Tuesday.
I have also confirmed that your trash will run one day behind, so it will be picked up on Friday

Single Family Homes in MFHA—
Trash will be picked up tomorrow, recycling will be picked up on Tuesday.

Cluster Homes—Recycling will be picked up on Thursday. I think trash gets bumped to Friday, but I will confirm and will send out a message when I know for sure.

UPDATE: The Waste Management Facility — including the Citizen Drop-Off and Recycling Center — will be closed on Memorial Day, contrary to previous communications. We apologize for any confusion.
