Books are pretty cool, huh? 📚

Our Service Dogs in training took a trip to a local bookstore to brush up on their skills and do some learning. Each pup even found a new favorite book!

Help send them luck as they continue their training to become Service Dogs for Veterans in need. 👇

After 20 years of service in the Air Force, Derek carried a heavy burden home.

Returning to civilian life wasn’t easy. After multiple deployments and the loss of his daughter, PTSD followed him everywhere.

Although Derek was hesitant about getting a Service Dog, he decided to apply — and that’s how he met Apollo.

"Apollo is more than a Service Dog to me — she’s a partner and a teammate," says Derek. "This experience has already changed my life, and I’m grateful for everyone who made it possible."

Are we seeing double?!

At K9s For Warriors, we see plenty of pups who make you take a second glance because they look so similar.

Tell us which pair you think looks most alike in the comments! 👇

Although the wounds of PTSD aren’t always visible, they’re very real — life-altering, even.

For many Veterans, asking for help can be difficult. Healing does not always follow a straight line, and no two journeys look exactly alike. But when people feel supported enough to take that first step, their experiences can create change far beyond themselves.

Celebrating five years of Paws For Change! 🎉

Second chances are at the heart of what we do at K9s For Warriors. Through Paws For Change, we partner with local law enforcement to give inmates the opportunity to train future Service Dogs, helping save lives at both ends of the leash.

After 24 years of service in the Army and four combat tours, Richard found himself unable to leave the house alone.

His PTSD made even family birthdays and celebrations difficult to attend, keeping him from moments that mattered most.

Then he met his Service Dog, Finnley, rescued from Lake City Humane Society, who changed everything.

With Finnley by his side, Richard feels free to live a full life again.

A quick checkup with our Service Dogs! 🩺

Every month, each Service Dog and Warrior pair visits our Duffield Veterinary Clinic.

These visits help Warriors prepare for their pups’ care after graduation and ensure each dog is up to date on everything, with a clean bill of health before traveling home with their Warrior.

It’s a win-win!
