Code3 Animal Rescue

Stay safe this weekend if you’re in the path of the nor’easter! And REMEMBER to always check your gates and fences before letting your pups outside. Also, NEVER let your dogs approach downed power lines.

Bella and Akira have the right idea on a Nor’easter weekend. 🐶 🛌 ❤️ Stay inside where it’s safe and lounge around in your jammies. REMINDER: Check your gates and fences before letting your pups outside. Also, keep away from downed power lines! Stay safe if you’re in the storm’s path.

We have received unfortunate confirmation from event organizers that Rock2Adopt has been moved to October 17 and 18 due to the impending storm. All events for this weekend have been cancelled.

At this time, Code3 Animal Rescue cannot say for sure if we will be able to attend the new dates. We will keep everyone posted via our social media as soon as we can.

We’re recommending everyone stay inside with their pets where it’s safe this weekend and fire up some crockpot chili and college football instead. 🌶️ 🏈 😋

Stay safe and remember high winds are forecasted. So please check gates and fences regularly throughout the storm before letting your pups outside!

Code3 is currently monitoring the weather situation for the weekend of Sept 26 & 27. At this time, pilots that fly for us are grounding themselves starting immediately due to windy and wet conditions and will remain grounded until the storm passes.

As far as our attendance at the Rock2Adopt Music Festival in Bayville, we continue to monitor the weather as mentioned, and we will provide any updates later in the week on our social media pages.

Thank you all for understanding that the safety of our volunteers, pilots, and the animals we transport are always #1. ✈️ ❤️🐾

Hopefully you know your team and your players better than these two! Whoever you’re pulling for today, GOOD LUCK!

This is Riley, a Golden Retriever who served with FEMA’s Pennsylvania Task Force 1. His handler was Chris Selfridge.

This photo is one of the most famous images of the 9/11 canine rescue effort. Riley was placed in a Stokes basket and moved by a rope system across a roughly 60–70-foot-deep gap in the debris so he could search an area of the North Tower wreckage that was difficult to reach. The photograph was taken on September 15, 2001.

Riley had been trained to search for living survivors, but during the Ground Zero operation he also helped locate the remains of fallen firefighters. 💔🐾🇺🇸
