Our thoughts go out to the owner and their staff. As a reminder we offer free smoke detectors to residents within our service area. Please take the time today to reach out if you do not have working smoking detectors. Our members would be more than happy to come and install some.

At around 3pm yesterday our department was dispatched to assist Todd Mission Volunteer Fire with a structure fire at Texas Renaissance Festival. Units arrived to find heavy smoke coming from a 3 story building and began to conduct fire attack. Additional assistance was requested from MCESD #2 - Montgomery Fire Department & Montgomery County ESD No. 10/Magnolia Fire Department. Units on scene made an aggressive interior fire attack and were able to keep the fire contained to the single involved building. No injuries were reported, one firefighter was treated for heat exhaustion on scene and then released by EMS. Big thank you to all the firefighters who worked tirelessly to contain the blaze, CHI St. Joseph Health EMS for taking care of our firefighters, and of course the 911 dispatchers at Grimes County Sheriff's Office for their vital role in the success and safety of this complex incident.

The fire is currently under investigation by the fire marshal office.

Today, August 31, 2026, shortly before 3:00 PM a fire was reported at one of our booths on-site.

The fire occurred at Booth #225, and it is the only shop that was impacted by the fire.

We are thankful for the swift response of our maintenance team, Todd Mission Volunteer Fire Department, Magnolia Fire Department, Plantersville Fire Department, Montgomery Fire Department and all other first responders that showed up to quickly assist in extinguishing the fire.

There were no injuries, and the cause of the fire is currently unknown.

At this time it looks like we will see more wind than rain. There is a possibility the threat could increase. Updates to follow.

At approximately 1:40 PM on August 25th, our department was dispatched for a vehicle fire off Hoptree Lane in the Pinebrook Subdivision. Shortly after, dispatchers advised it was an RV on fire, Mutual aid was immediately requested from Todd Mission Volunteer Fire.

A few members who were at the station immediately responded and arrived in less than 12 minutes to find an RV heavily involved with flames threatening a residence on the property, a vehicle, and a neighboring residence.

Despite the extreme heat, our members worked swiftly to protect the surrounding exposures and bring the main fire under control. Thankfully, there were no injuries.

While crews were still on scene, they noticed smoke a few hundred feet away on an adjacent property. Members investigated and discovered several small spot fires caused by flying ash from the main fire. These fires were quickly extinguished before they had an opportunity to spread into a larger brush fire.

We are extremely grateful for the quick response and mutual aid provided by Todd Mission VFD.

Seconds matter during an emergency, especially when dealing with fire. A quick 911 call can make the difference between a small incident and a much larger emergency.

We can’t brag enough about our highly motivated members at Plantersville-Stoneham VFD!

Please help us congratulate Firefighter Munoz on passing his Texas Commission on Fire Protection test, earning his certification and allowing him to work as a firefighter here in Texas! 👨🏽‍🚒

In just the past 5 months, FF Munoz came to us with no firefighting experience at all, and today he proudly holds his:

🚒 Basic Firefighter Certification
🚑 EMT-B Certification
🔥 Basic Wildland Firefighter Certification
🚙 Basic Vehicle Extrication Certification

It is absolutely amazing to see the hard work, dedication, and commitment FF Munoz has put forward to accomplish so much in such a short amount of time!

We are extremely proud to have you as a member of the Plantersville-Stoneham VFD family. Keep up the great work, Firefighter Munoz!
