🌎⛳ Swipe through for a look at Christian Cappetta’s experience at the Congaree Global Golf Initiative (CGGI)!

Hosted by the Congaree Foundation, CGGI provides under-resourced high school students who aspire to play collegiate golf with access to elite coaching, academic resources, and mentorship—all at no cost to participants and their families.

The experience begins with a weeklong camp at Congaree Golf Club in South Carolina and continues with support through the college placement process and beyond.
From college preparation and golf development to building relationships with coaches, advisors, and mentors, CGGI is about creating opportunities that extend far beyond the course.

For nearly 20 years, First Tee – Pittsburgh has maintained and operated the Bob O'Connor Golf Course while giving thousands of kids free and low-cost access to golf and life-skills programming.

Now there's a plan to upgrade the course and help the program become financially self-sufficient — freeing up more donor dollars for youth scholarships.

⚾ A night our youth won't soon forget! ⚾

On Friday, June 12, FTP participants enjoyed an incredible evening at PNC Park as the Pittsburgh Pirates took on the Miami Marlins.

Thanks to an anonymous supporter, our group watched the game from the historic 1960 World Series Suite while enjoying delicious food, beverages, and dessert. The excitement continued when our youth appeared on the JumboTron and even got to participate in the crowd-favorite "Spot the Cow" activity! 🎉🐄

Experiences like these give our young people the chance to create lasting memories, try new experiences, and simply enjoy being kids.

A heartfelt thank you to the anonymous supporter who made this amazing night possible. Your generosity created smiles, laughter, and memories that will last a lifetime. ❤️

On Saturday, June 13, 18 junior golfers competed in this year's championship, showcasing their talent, determination, and love for the game.

A huge congratulations to all of our amazing campers for completing Week 1 of First Tee – Pittsburgh Summer Camp! 🎉🏌️‍♀️🏌️‍♂️

This week was filled with learning new golf skills, making friends, trying new challenges, and growing both on and off the course. We’re so proud of the confidence, teamwork, sportsmanship, and positive attitudes each camper brought every day. 💙💛

At First Tee, we know that golf is more than a game. Through fun activities and interactive lessons, participants build life skills that will stay with them long after camp ends. 🌟

Thank you to all of our campers, coaches, and families for making Week 1 such a success. We can’t wait to see what the rest of the summer has in store! ☀️🦋🌸

⛳💖 Thank You for an Amazing Girls Golf Play Day!

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at The Bob O'Connor Golf Course At Schenley Park for our Girls Golf Play Day in partnership with the LPGA Amateur Golf Association - Pittsburgh Chapter! 🌟

From the Bob Course to the Palmer Loop, it was wonderful to see girls of all skill levels spending time on the course, building confidence, making new friends, and having fun through the game of golf. 🏌️‍♀️💚💙

We are especially grateful to the LPGA Amateurs Pittsburgh Chapter, our volunteers, and supporters who helped create such a welcoming and encouraging environment. Through partnerships like these, we can continue to support and grow women's golf by providing opportunities for girls to learn, play, and discover all that the game has to offer.

Thank you to everyone who participated, shared their enthusiasm, and helped make the day so special. Together, we're inspiring the next generation of female golfers and creating a stronger, more inclusive golf community. 💖⛳

Betty will represent First Tee – Pittsburgh at the prestigious event held at the University of North Carolina's Finley Golf Club, where First Tee’s top players from across the country will compete in a 54-hole championship while showcasing the character, resilience, and leadership they’ve developed through the program.
