Congratulations to all the SSWPA Young Artists who competed at the Carmel-Klavier Piano Competition! Evan Wu (right) received an honorable mention in the Solo section as well as 1st place in both Modern and Beyond and Concerto sections. Olivia Lee (left) and Zipeng Liu (middle) received an honorable mention in the Duet section.

All of these young artists have been actively participating in masterclasses, recitals, and community outreach opportunities provided by the SSWPA.

Each year, the Steinway Society of Western Pennsylvania organizes Honor Recitals, providing Young Artists with opportunities to perform on stage and share their music with the greater community.

Congratulations to all the young artists for their fabulous performances this year! They all received a plaque and certificate of recognition for their hard work and artistry.

What a stunning recital given by CHAEYOUNG PARK today in Pittsburgh! Ms. Park's spirited Beethoven sonatas were complemented by vibrant and colorful performances of Granados, Mompou, Albéniz, Messiaen, and Ravel.

After Ms. Park's astounding rendition of "La valse," the audience's standing ovation demanded an encore, and she obliged with a lovely interpretation of "Embraceable You" by Gershwin and Earl Wild.

This was truly a recital to remember, and we thank Ms. Park for sharing her artistry with us.

CHAEYOUNG PARK will perform in our Steinway Society WPA Recital Series on Sunday, January 25, 2026. In 2019, Park made history as the first female Korean pianist to win the Hilton Head International Piano Competition, leading to her Carnegie Hall solo debut and a performance of Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 4 with the Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra. In 2022, she was the First Prize winner of Young Concert Artists Susan Wadsworth International Auditions, and Finalist of 2023 Arthur Rubinstein International Master Piano Competition and 2021 Concours Musical International de Montréal. CHAEYOUNG PARK, HHIPC MULTI-PRIZE WINNER, IN BAY AREA PERFORMANCE
Chaeyoung Park, 2025 Cliburn International Piano Competition semi-finalist, will return to Steinway Society – The Bay Area for a solo performance on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 7:30pm in Saratoga’s McAfee Performing Arts Center. A meet-the-artist opportunity follows the concert. Her appearance will also be taped and offered world-wide for a streaming audience.
