Ken Totten Our Official of the Year!!

Ken began his officiating career in 2004 as a Line Judge on his father’s (Ken Totten Sr.) crew. Ken Sr. was also recognized with this award back in 2004. Some of Ken’s fondest memories were working on the field with his father until his dad’s retirement in 2010. At that point Ken took over the Referee position. Over the years, Ken and his crew have officiated many key NJSIAA playoff games, as well as a state championship final in 2022.

Ken attributes his crew as the key driver his recognition for this award. He recently commented, “Our crew of Pete Mangarella, Bill Barberio, Frank Mercuri, Bryan Scipio and Ron Symanski have been working together as a crew for many years and we work well together, trusting in each other’s work ethic and judgement to always give it our very best every time we step on the field together.”

Ken has had a successful 40 year career in banking and is currently the Chairman and President of United Roosevelt Savings Bank. URSB has been a longtime supporter of the Bill Denny Chapter along with many other charitable organizations.

Our Story

Ex-Rutgers football players aim to get more Hall of Fame votes, aid high school athletes

Andrew Mendlowitz, @andy_mendlowitz Published 1:29 p.m. ET Nov. 17, 2017 |

In 1869, they smashed into one another without helmets or shoulder pads. But after the first intercollegiate football game between Rutgers University and Princeton University, the programs have gone in different directions.

Princeton plays in a 28,000-seat stadium in the Football Championship Subdivision-level against teams like Yale and Georgetown. Rutgers competes in a 52,000-seat stadium in the Big Ten against powers such as Michigan and Ohio State.
