"God Is Great, So Why Do We Work So Hard to Make Him Small?" Join us tomorrow, Sunday, August 23, at 9:00 AM or 11:00 AM, in person or online, as we welcome our guest speaker, Dr. Danny Armstrong! Based on Psalm 147:4–5 & Ephesians 3:20–21, tomorrow’s message invites us to think about just how big our God really is. If God knows every star in the heavens and can do “immeasurably more than all we can ask or imagine,” what happens when we put limits on what we believe He can do? Come worship with us and discover where this message takes us!

About Dr. Danny Armstrong

Dr. Danny Armstrong and his wife, Kim, have been beloved members of the KUMC family since 1986. Their sons, Matthew and Timothy, were raised in our church. Danny is also the son of a United Methodist pastor and military chaplain, and faith has been central to his life and family.

A pediatric psychologist and longtime leader in children's health, Dr. Armstrong has dedicated his career to serving children with serious illnesses through his work at the University of Miami, Jackson Health System, and the Mailman Center for Child Development, where he has served as Director since 1999. He has held numerous national and international leadership roles. He has been recognized for his contributions to children's health, including the American Cancer Society's St. George Award and the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce Healthcare Heroes Lifetime Achievement Award.

We are honored to welcome Dr. Armstrong to the pulpit this Sunday and look forward to the message he will share with our KUMC family.

This past Sunday was a special one at KUMC! We blessed all of our students, and at the 11:00 AM service, we gave a special blessing to our KUMC preschool students as they begin a new school year.

We pray that God goes with each of them, protecting, guiding, and blessing them as they learn and grow.

And we also celebrated Pastor Ruben’s birthday! We are so grateful for his leadership, joy, and love for our KUMC family.

What a wonderful Sunday of faith, blessings, and celebration!

Blessing Our Teachers & School Staff

This past Sunday, Pastor Ruben blessed our teachers and school staff as they begin a new school year. We are grateful for the countless ways they guide, encourage, and care for our children every day. We pray that God gives every teacher and school staff member wisdom, patience, strength, and compassion for the year ahead. May He protect them, renew them on challenging days, and remind them that their work has a lasting impact on their students’ lives.

May God walk with you, strengthen you, and bless you throughout the school year. You are making a difference!

Happy Birthday, Pastor Ruben! Today we celebrate Pastor Ruben and give thanks for the faith, love, and guidance you share with our KUMC family. Thank you for helping us grow closer to God while always bringing so much joy, laughter, and warmth to our church. May the Lord bless you and keep you, and make His face shine upon you. As a new school year begins, we all face new beginnings, new challenges, and perhaps a few nervous moments. But what if we remembered that we never have to face them alone? Join us tomorrow, Sunday, August 16, at 9:00 AM or 11:00 AM, in person or online, for “God Goes With You,” based on Joshua 1:1–9.

Joshua was stepping into an uncertain future, but God gave him something more powerful than a roadmap: the assurance of His presence. What can we learn from Joshua when we are standing at the edge of something new?

And tomorrow, we will put that promise into action with our BACK TO SCHOOL BLESSING in both services. We will pray over and bless our students, teachers, and school staff, sending them into the new school year with the reminder that God goes with them wherever they go.
