PORCH Pinecrest

PORCH Pinecrest is an all-volunteer grassroots hunger relief organization.

We collect food and cash donations through monthly neighborhood food drives to support food pantries in schools in the Southwest Miami-Dade area.

We have added a 4th local school pantry to support! Designed specifically for teen parents, the in Richmond Heights supports 27 teen parents/students, who bring their infants/toddlers to school. The school creates a nurturing environment where students and their infants/children can thrive, offering a range of resources, including academic support, childcare services for infants/preschoolers, and counseling. Under the leadership of Palmetto High School alumni Principal Ms. Tammy Edouard, this Teenage Parent Program covers the area from Flagler St. down to Florida City.

Next Porch Pinecrest pick up will be held on Mon, June 1st. Reach out to be placed on the pick up route! As always, thank you to our generous donors!!

We want to thank everyone who donated to the Community Center / Evelyn Greer Park food drives and also extend our deepest gratitude to for their incredible generosity (1500 pounds). The amounts donated were extraordinary; your donations were one of the largest total contributions we have ever received! There was so much food, our car was lowered from the weight! Thanks to your kindness, we were able to drop off the donations to provide essential support to the 50+ children and families in need and over 300+ in need . We’re so thankful to and our generous for your commitment to helping others to make a meaningful impact. The families-in-need were truly grateful to receive your donations.

Huge thank you to Restore Hyper Wellness Pinecrest for your kindness and donations! Their amazing staff and customers donated 360 pounds of food and toiletries, which we delivered to and at the Palmetto Sr. High Panther Pantry. 🐾

The busy summer months of June & July did not deter the generous donors of Porch Pinecrest! Thank you all! We collected 1,680 pounds of food and loads of school supplies with the help from Student Ambassadors from Palmetto Sr: Adi Greenberg, Tesa Willette, Theo Linhares, and Sophia &
Sarah Villamizar (Palmetto Middle). Opes Group/Compass Realty graciously donated food and book bags stuffed with school supplies for the kids at Caribbean K-8; and Pinecrest Troop 840 Wolf Den Second Graders donated 60 pounds of non-perishables. Thank you Opes Group & Troop 840 for your thoughtfulness and generosity in helping kids in our local community.

The August collection will be held earlier than usual this month on Tuesday, 8/12 so we can help stock the pantries with school supplies and food before school begins at Southridge Sr. and Caribbean K-8 & Palmetto Sr Please reach out to sign up!

Thank you to everyone who donates at the cash register at ; we’d like to show you where your donations are going. Yesterday, on behalf of Porch Pinecrest, Pinecrest Rotary Club President Robert Bull delivered 380 lbs of food to WJ Bryan Elementary School (in N. Miami), where there is a 75% poverty rate. Thank you again to Milam’s for your thoughtfulness in organizing the cash register campaign.

A special thank you to Laura Weinfeld and her firm, Walton, Lantaff, Schroeder & Carson, LLP. Thanks to their generous donations and those of our thoughtful neighbors, we were able to collect 1,000 pounds of food in last week’s Porch Pinecrest pickup! Laura has been one of our most prominent donors from the start, and we’re so thankful that she got her firm involved as well, thank you!

Our amazing community worked together to make a difference for students in need at Palmetto Sr High (260 lbs), Southridge Sr High (440 lbs) & Caribbean K-8 (300 lbs) food pantries. Thank you again to all our donors!

A very special thank you to Jane Bark Barrellier for the generous cash donation to and for collecting food at Compass Realty. We matched Jane’s donation, and we were able to purchase 400 lbs. of food, all delivered to Caribbean Elementary K-8 on Friday; they were extremely grateful. There are 50 families that rely on the pantry at the school, some of whom live behind the school at a domestic violence shelter.

Our next food drive will be held on Thursday, Feb 27th. Reach out, and we’ll place you on our pick-up route.

Closed out January with a collection of 600 pounds of food - all thanks to the great neighbors across Pinecrest/So Miami/Palmetto Bay, donated to the pantry at Southridge High School . Together we are making a difference in the local community.

Our next Porch pick-up will be Jan 28th at 10am! We also did a special drop-off earlier this week thanks to the generous campaign fund donation from Pinecrest Vice Mayor, Jerry Greenberg. We matched Jerry’s donation, which enabled us to purchase and deliver 380 lbs of food to our newest pantry, Caribbean Elementary K-8. We also included donations from the Pinecrest Youth Advisory Council (YAC) and a generous donor’s Amazon purchase! We are looking forward to this new partnership with Caribbean Elementary K-8 and to helping the over 50 children and families at this school.
