Did you know REV+FLOW is designed to work all 3 planes of movement? Training in all three planes especially the ones we use the least in our modern world will prevent injury and help you function in this world at your best!

Take a look around and gym, and most movements — and workout programs — are sagittally dominant meaning working forward and back (just stroll by the cardio area in any gym and the proof is right there). This isn’t bad — running, stair climbing, squatting, lunging, and cycling are all great exercises.

But such sagittal movements don’t fully stimulate your stabilizing muscles, particularly in your lower body. Over time this can lead to injury. So you’ll likely extend your health span in the fitness trenches by including some frontal and transverse plane movements in every workout as well.

REV+FLOW is designed to move you through the three planes of motion while emphasizing compound (multi-joint) exercises, helping you feel fit and strong in everyday life.

⭐REV+FLOW MOVE of the WEEK⭐ - The Side Kick
During the Thursday morning class, in the song "What You're Worth" by Mandisa, we practice slow and controlled sidekicks. I love that we do them slow because:
1) It helps us learn good form
2) It requires more balance
3) It requires more core strength

Ways to modify as you improve strength and balance:
1) Do not kick as high (which requires less core tilt)
2) Place your hands/fingertips lightly on a chair in front of you to assist with balance

SO let's stand up and practice our form! And I will see you tomorrow morning!

Let’s be honest. Our sedentary modern world has created challenges to staying healthy and fit. A body, mind and and soul that is ready to act; to love and to serve.

Looking for a high protein snack that isn't a salty beef stick or another protein bar? I stumbled upon roasted edamame during the check out line at TJMaxx (different brand). It has become one of our go to snacks. Also be great as a crunchy topper on a salad too! A 1/4 cup serving provides 14 grams of protein and 8 grams of fiber and 1 gram of sugar all for just 130 calories--and no weird ingredients. I found this brand at amazon for a good price. It also comes in snack packs if you love them so much you want calorie portion control 🙂
