YMCA of Centre County Backpack and Anti-Hunger Program

YMCA of Centre County Backpack and Anti-Hunger Program YMCA of Centre County provides food for students in seven school districts every Friday to ensure they have food for the weekend.

BACKPACK WEEKEND FOOD PROGRAM
Each Friday afternoon during the school year, participating students receive a bag of meals and snacks to take home with them for weekend. Examples of food students receive include: cereal, soup, tuna, spaghetti, fruit, and more. The YMCA works closely with local schools to distribute information to students/parents qualifying for the Free/Reduced Lunch Program. Paren

ts interested in enrolling their child/children complete a brief, confidential application and permission form. No child is turned away from this program. More information can be obtained by contacting your child’s school. We serve all Centre County school districts, three Clearfield County school districts, and several Head Start programs and charter schools. ANTI-HUNGER PROGRAM
During these unprecedented times, the YMCA of Centre County Anti-Hunger Program aims to provide shelf-stable and refrigerated/frozen food items for individuals and families. To achieve this, frequent Food Distributions and mobile feedings are held at various locations throughout our service area. Emergency food boxes are also available for individuals or families if needed. We offer home delivery for those who may not have access to transportation. The Summer Lunch Program is available for students while they are out of school over the summer.
