🥵SOS🥵 This weekend is going to be 🔥🔥🔥 and our trees need 💦💦💦! Young trees need 15–20 gallons 1x per week during growing season, and during excess heat they need this amount 2–3x per week.

This is best done through slow, deep watering to thoroughly soak the area around your tree(s) root zone. This allows all roots, both deep and shallow, to get a good drink 💧 and stay moist. Mulch can also help keep the roots cooler and avoid quick moisture loss.

Last Saturday (11/15) was a beautiful day to grow our urban forest!

With the help of an incredible crew of enthusiastic volunteers, we planted 59 new trees across West & Southwest Philadelphia! 💪🌱

We’re thrilled to partner with our faith-based leaders — Killingsworth Temple, St. Cyprian Roman Catholic Church, and Victory Christian Center — as they work toward becoming Level 1 arboreta. Their commitment to care, shade, and stewardship is transforming our neighborhoods one tree at a time.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, dug in, and made a difference!

📸 If you have photos or videos from the planting, we’d love to see them! Please send them to [email protected]
— your memories help us tell the story of this work.

Stay tuned for more ways to get involved and help our canopy grow!
