Our glaze board is a helpful tool, but do you know how to use it?

Let’s start with the basics. In the studio, we mix 12 glazes and use two clay bodies. That means our glaze board has a whopping 288 tiles. 🫨

The board shows how our 12 studio glazes interact with both of our clay bodies. The vertical column, denoted by letters, is the first dip. The horizontal column, denoted by numbers, is the second dip. Each row has the lighter clay body, Laguna 55 on the left, and the speckled clay body, Standard 112, on the right.

Let’s say I want to recreate this bluish green glaze on the speckled clay body. When I turn over the tile, it says “B3.” Following the board, I see the first dip is “B,” Pond Green and the second dip is “3,” Sky Blue.

We hope this helps you navigate our studio glaze board.

Do you have a favorite glaze combination? Tell us in the comments!
