Congratulations to our best performer chosen by the people !!!

Chase Mercata is an artist from Chesapeake, Virginia. He has the talents of a lyricist, fused with melodic croons and a smooth swagger. Since the age of 12, he has been writing his own music and doing shows and features with his peers with an aspiration to take the world by storm.

This is Chase’s third year performing with us and each year he rocks the Hub!

From talking stages, to anniversaries, and even breakups, these artists are delving deep into all the nuances of Black Love.

Join us as we celebrate expressive forms of art ranging from paintings, photography, and poetry with a special performance from the Petersburg symphony!

Community! We've got nothing but love for you all this Kwanzaa season as we celebrate in style at the Hub. We hope you'll join us to kick off Kwanzaa season at the Umoja Kwanzaa Celebration on December 26. We have so much in store including our very special guest, renowned actor and advocate, Tico Wells, known for the classic film, The Five Heartbeats. In addition to Tico's talk and meet greet, there will be drumming, a market place (so you can purchase all your Kwanzaa gifts!), a Watoto (Children's) Corner with arts& craft, and so much more!
