The society hopes everyone is safe and recovering from the hurricane. Our next meeting is November 7th at 10:30 at the downtown library on Spring St. Our speaker will be Dean DeBolt, the Head of University Archives and West Florida History Center. He will be giving us an update on the archives. A group visited there this summer. We hope another group will go in December. The public can always make arrangements to do research at the UWF Archives.

Today we met at Sonny's on 9th Ave for our quarterly luncheon. Only about half of our usual group was able to attend. We missed you but understand doctors and hurricane issues. We had a good time comparing hurricane stories and happy to do something normal again. Our next lunch will be in January. There will be signup sheet at the December and January meetings with the time and date. Our next general meeting is Saturday,10:30, November 7th, at the library on Spring St. Come early and visit. Our speaker will be Dean DeBolt from the UWF Archives. Hope to see you there!

The 44th anniversary of the West Florida Genealogical Society was celebrated this past September. After a talk on cadastral maps by Bert Outlaw we enjoyed cake and a look at a scrapbook and other society items. We also announced our spring conference speakers. Thanks to member James Stegall for the photos.
