📚🍎 Did you know that teachers spend an average of $500–$895 of their own money on classroom supplies each year? Sometimes that amount can exceed $1,000 annually, especially in under-resourced schools.

During our Grants & Donations Season, we are proud to recognize Charles E. Bennett Elementary School 4th-grade teacher Erin McLain. (Classroom volunteer Sue Heath accepted the grant on her behalf.)

Erin's dedication to her students and classroom is making a difference every day. This grant will help provide much-needed supplies that directly benefit her students and support their learning experience.

At the Rotary Club of Green Cove Springs, we believe in supporting the educators who invest so much in our future generations.

Congratulations to our member, Elaine Simfukwe, who serves as the STEM 4-H Agent for Clay County with UF/IFAS Extension at the University of Florida! 👏

Elaine recently received an Achievement Award from Dr. Andra Johnson, Dean of Extension for the University of Florida, in recognition of her outstanding work and dedication to serving the youth and families of Clay County through education 🧫🧪and 4-H programming.

We are proud to have Elaine as a member of our club and grateful for the positive impact she continues to make in our community.

Recently, our Vice President, Anna, visited Evanston, Illinois, for AscenCon, a Rotaract conference. During her trip, she visited the One Rotary Center (the headquarters of ) and brought back a commemorative coin from the Rotary Foundation's Centennial celebration in 2017.

The coin was presented to President John Bowles in recognition of his leadership during our club's Centennial year. This August, our club proudly celebrates 100 years of service to our community and beyond, a century of making a difference through Rotary.

Huge shout-out to our Interactors, incoming President Matthew and outgoing President Sophia!

Both have shown incredible initiative by attending our Vibrant Clubs Seminar, District Conference, and RYLA District 6970, all while maintaining strong academic performance, leading their Interact Club, and staying involved in other extracurricular activities.

We are proud of both of them for their leadership, dedication, and commitment to serving others. Keep up the great work!

Green Cove Springs is in the house at this weekend at Stetson University! We’re ready for three days of leadership development, learning, fellowship, and new friendships.

A special thank you to our Interactors and recent graduates from Clay High School, along with our Vice President and Public Image Chair, for representing our club and making this experience possible. We can’t wait to see all that this weekend has in store!

Congratulations to our 2025–2026 charity recipients: Rotarians for the Development of Youth, Inc., PET Florida, The Vineyard Transitional Center, Shepherd's Center, James Cash Penney Legacy Fund, and Friends of the Green Cove Springs Library.

Throughout the year, our Rotary Club works hard to raise funds that are reinvested directly into our community. We are proud to support organizations that are making a real difference and enriching the lives of everyday people through their programs, services, and outreach efforts.

Thank you to these outstanding organizations for the important work you do. Together, we are creating lasting impact right here at home!

Today was an extra special meeting as we were joined by our beloved member, Russ Miller, otherwise known as "Mr. Rotarian" by Rotarians near and far 💙💛

Russ came rocking his Rotary-themed pants, which he said were inspired by our incoming RI Director, Marshall Butler!

Russ has been an integral part of Rotary District 6970 and served as District Governor of Rotary District 6950 during the 2008–2009 Rotary year. While his health has taken priority in recent years, we are always grateful to see him. Russ is thankful for the continued thoughts, prayers, and support from his Rotary family 🫶

Our club would like to thank Rotary Zones 33/34 for this Platinum-level EPIC Award in recognition of our public image efforts during the 2025–2026 Rotary year.

Our Public Image Chair, Anna FL, would like to thank all of our members whose teamwork helped share the club’s impact and service with our community. A special thank you goes to our member Donald A. Coble with Clay Today Newspaper for helping highlight the great work being done by Rotary.
