🌿 This little turtle was spotted in the Boston area in CVNP. It had just finished (slowly) crossing Boston Mills Road!

It appears to be an eastern box turtle, the only native turtle in the park that stays on the land. This turtle is a “species of concern” in Ohio due to habitat loss. 🌳 These woodland turtles are active in the early morning or evening hours, sheltering under debris during the day. 💚 Always drive carefully in the park and be mindful that after sudden rain showers you may see turtles crossing the road! 🐢

☀️ It's a beautiful morning in Cuyahoga Valley National Park! Can you identify this plant? It was found in a lush area next to the Boston Trailhead overflow parking lot. 🦋

✨ Open Houses for Brandywine Falls/Virginia Kendall Outdoor Exhibit Plan

Changes are coming to some of your favorite park locations! 🌳Cuyahoga Valley National Park needs your input on the revised wayside exhibit plan for Brandywine Falls, Ledges, Octagon, Kendall Lake, and Happy Days Lodge.

Stop by Hines Hill Conference Center on one of the following dates to see the latest layouts and to provide your comments. ✍️ Allow about an hour.

🗓️ Open House Dates:

Wednesday, June 10, from 1-4 pm
Tuesday, June 16, from 1:30 pm-6 pm
Tuesday, June 23, from 1:30 pm-6 pm

📍Location: 1403 West Hines Hill Road, Peninsula

The plan shows the wayside exhibits with updated images and text, based on the 300 comments received during the last review period. Let the park know if you find them interesting and attractive. What do you think of the updated storytelling and improved wayfinding?

📣 Note that this will be the last public review opportunity. Next, the designs will be finalized and moved into production. Installation is planned for spring 2027.

🌳 Happy National Trails Day! Cuyahoga Valley National Park (CVNP) offers visitors over 140 miles of hiking, cycling, and horseback riding trails that are used and loved by millions every year.

In honor of the day, travel your favorite trail or explore a new one. You can also donate to the Conservancy's Trails Now Fund, which provides crucial funding for trail maintenance, visitor amenities, and new trailheads. 🌳
