Camp Manatoc is located within the Cuyahoga Valley National Park in Peninsula Ohio. It is the home of Scouts within the Great Trail Council, Scouting America.

This week we are featuring the Historic Manatoc Dining Hall! Built entirely out of wormy chestnut, the Dining Hall is home to sit down breakfast and dinner, as well as grab and go lunches.

During breakfast and dinner Scouts will have fantastic cafeteria and family style meals accompanied by songs and skits from staff members, as well as the ability to participate in the gizmo game show each meal. During lunch Scouts will have the option to eat in the dining hall or take their provided bag lunch anywhere on camp property to enjoy our lunch and siesta period in the afternoon.

The energy is high at Camp Manatoc as we officially kick off National Camp School today!

We are thrilled to welcome more than 100 participants and staff representing 18 states from across the country. For the next several days, camp professionals and volunteers will be learning, sharing ideas, and sharpening the skills that help create safe, fun, and unforgettable camp experiences for Scouts everywhere.

There’s something special about seeing so many passionate leaders gathered in one place, all committed to delivering the very best in outdoor adventure and youth programming.

This week we are featuring our first year camper area, Adventure Bound! Adventure Bound is the perfect introduction to camping at Manatoc, and focuses on learning how camp works, rank advancement, the patrol method, and most importantly FUN! Each day, Scouts will visit different program areas at camp to work on requirements and participate in Adventure Bound exclusive opportunities!

On Wednesday night, Scouts in the program will have the chance for an overnight campout with other Scouts in the program. Units should be sure to make sure every Scout in the program are prepared with a tent and camping supplies.

Personal Development is home to a majority of Camp Manatoc’s Eagle required and civics based merit badges. Often when you visit you will find Scouts practicing presentation and critical thinking skills under the mentorship of our camp staff!

This week for are highlighting our Range and Target Activities! Manatoc is home to 4 ranges for Scouts and Leaders to use during their time at camp: Archery, Rifle, Shotgun, and Tomahawks! What is your favorite range to visit at summer camp? ⚜️

This week for we are showcasing Outdoor Skills. In 2026, ODS will be the hub for Scouts to experience our semiquincentennial celebration. Similar to the Manatoc 100th Camporee, ODS will be throwback area in 2026, except instead of being themed around the founding of our camp, we will be “throwing it back” to the bicentennial of the United States and embracing scouting in the 70s. ⛺

Yesterday we had our first development day with our 2026 summer camp staff! Staff were able to get to know each other, practice instructing others, and set up our staff living area! 🏕⛺

Next week, on April 23rd, you’ll have the opportunity to make your voice count by helping decide which projects at camp deserve funding. For just $75, you’ll contribute $50 directly to the funding pool while also enjoying a delicious dinner and meaningful fellowship with others who care about the Manatoc’s future.

This week for Manatoc Monday we are showcasing Lake Litchfield! At the lake Scouts have the opportunity to earn boating merit badges and fish, and this year there will be an evening dedicated to fishing out of boats! 🪢🐠🛶

Ready for a dip? This week we are featuring the pool! A favorite for many Scouts, the pool offers swimming and lifesaving merit badges as well as many chances for Scouts to swim! 🐠🏊
