Pelham Fire Department would like to congratulate one of our own junior firefighters, Tyler Newnam, on successfully completing and graduating from Rockingham Community College’s Daytime Fire Academy!

Tyler spent his summer completing more than 500 hours of rigorous training, gaining the knowledge and skills necessary to become a professional firefighter. He is now one step closer to becoming a North Carolina state-certified firefighter!

Congratulations again, Tyler! Your hard work, dedication, and commitment to serving your community do not go unnoticed. We are proud to have you as a member of the Pelham Fire Department and look forward to seeing all that you accomplish!

Mark your calendars! It’s hard to believe this yearly tradition is right around the corner! Jacob has already been popping a few batches of popcorn 🍿 to make sure it’s just right…😂 If you’d like to set up to pass out candy, message us to make sure we have plenty of room.

Do you have questions about burning brush, or what can and cannot be burned? Check out: https://www.deq.nc.gov/about/divisions/air-quality/air-quality-compliance/open-burning

Towards the bottom of the page you will find a link that will guide you on how to get an online burn permit.

North Carolina law prohibits burning trash and non-vegetative materials. Leaves, branches and other plant growth can be burned under certain conditions.
