Our Story

We feel the time is always right to count our blessings and acknowledge someone whose life was a countless blessing. A childhood that often had only cornbread for dinner by candle light or oil lamp. This pastor’s daughter became a woman who held education and love for her fellow man on the same plane and held it as high as a human can. Whether it was teaching eight grades in a one room school, or later specializing in what was called special education. “Some teachers didn’t want to be bothered with those students, but I felt that everyone could learn”.

At the end of her life boxes of awards all said the same thing, what an unselfish person. And now a retreat that will echo these sentiments for decades to come.
