Wonderful community partners doing great things for our city! 💚💛

On Tuesday, I was grateful to join Henry Knejfl, Executive Director of the Pelham YMCA, and his team for a Community Tour, alongside Mayor Rick Wash, City Council President Chad Leverett, and Pelham Strong President Melissa Leverett.

It was a great opportunity to see firsthand the Y’s impact through programs focused on youth development, water safety, healthy living, and community outreach.

Thank you to Henry and the Pelham YMCA team for the invitation and for investing in what’s next for Pelham and our surrounding communities. Strong partnerships build strong communities.

Enjoyed learning about the many programs our Pelham YMCA provides for our community!

Building connections. Sharing our impact. Strengthening our community.

Today, we were grateful to welcome State Representative Kenneth Paschal, Mayor Rick Wash, City Council President Chad Leverett, and Pelham Strong President Melissa Leverett to the Pelham YMCA for our Community Tour!

It was a wonderful opportunity to open our doors, share our story, and highlight the many ways the Y is serving City of Pelham, AL and our surrounding communities every day.

From Safety Around Water and Defeat PD to Y Leaders Club, M@M Mujeres Ayudando A Mujeres , Y Little Learners, Child Watch, Kids Night Out, and so much more, our work extends far beyond the walls of our facility. It’s about creating opportunities for people of all ages to learn, grow, connect, and thrive.

Thank you to each of our guests for spending time with us, learning more about our work, asking questions, and engaging in conversations about the needs and opportunities within our community.

We’re proud of the impact happening at the Pelham YMCA, and even more excited about what we can accomplish through strong community partnerships! 💙

Some folks leave a mark on a community that lasts for generations. 💚

Earlier this summer, Pelham Strong had the joy of gathering with retired Valley Elementary teachers for a special luncheon. We shared a meal, caught up with old friends, laughed a little, reminisced a lot, and took some time to celebrate these wonderful teachers.

For so many Pelham families, these folks were a special part of their children’s lives. They taught, encouraged, loved, and believed in generations of Pelham students.

We are so thankful for the years they gave to our schools and for the lasting impact they have made in our community.

It was such a sweet afternoon, and we were honored to spend it with them. 💚

Do you recognize a favorite teacher in these photos? Tag them, tag a former classmate, or tell us about a teacher who made a difference in your life. We’d love to hear your stories and celebrate these special folks together!

Be Kind. Do Right.

What an incredible day for our community!

Thanks to everyone who participated in this year's Pelham Strong Walk & 5K and Home Run Derby. Because of your support, we were honored to present a donation to the Pelham Parks & Recreation Foundation last week, helping invest in youth sports and adult recreation opportunities that strengthen our community.

This year's One Mile Fun Run was especially meaningful as we celebrated America's 250th anniversary by honoring Paul Revere's Midnight Ride! A fun way to connect history with community while creating new traditions together.

None of this would be possible without our runners, families, volunteers, sponsors, and community partners. Every registration, every cheer, every volunteer hour, and every contribution helped make a difference.

Pelham Strong exists because of this community, and we're grateful for everyone who continues to show up, give back, and invest in the people and places that make Pelham such a special place to call home.

Thank you for helping us make an impact. We can't wait to see you next year! ❤️🏃🇺🇸⚾
