The Arc of Shelby County

The Arc of Shelby County Through advocacy, coaching, and support, we empower individuals with developmental disabilities and delays and their families to achieve their goals.

The Arc of Shelby County, chartered in 1974 as a support group for parents of children with developmental disabilities, has grown into an advocacy agency that now serves over 1,700 children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families each year with programs and services. The organization has seen its ability to offer life-changing programs and services flourish,

expanding into a powerful resource for enhancing an already thriving and growing community. As we move forward into the growth that our future promises, we invite you to join us. The Arc of Shelby County is an affiliate of The Arc of The United States and The Arc of Alabama and is a partner of The United Way of Central Alabama.
