Discover King City’s Military History

Join the MSG Petry Chapter for a special King City Military History Tour on September 18 from 0900–1500, as we explore several locations that highlight the area’s rich military heritage.

The tour begins at the King City Visitor & History Center, 110 N. Vanderhurst Ave., and will include historic sites throughout the community. Lunch will be provided.

Wear comfortable walking shoes and come ready to learn, connect, and discover the military history woven into the story of King City and the surrounding community.

A community ruck event promoting resilience, wellness, and connection, featuring a 5K or 1-mile ruck, post-event vendor fair, and canned food drive benefiting local veteran and military food banks. For the second consecutive year, the AUSA MSG Petry Chapter is proud to support the event by hosting an information booth, providing snacks for participants, and joining the ruck march.

Participants carry donated food items in their rucks—or backpacks for those new to rucking—and enjoy a scenic walk through Camp San Luis Obispo. More than a walk, the ruck symbolizes the mental and emotional burdens service members often carry. By walking together and carrying a load for others, participants demonstrate that no one has to carry those burdens alone—and that a strong, connected community can help lighten the load.

If you can't make event, we'll gladly collect your food donations and bring it the event. Contact the Chapter President at 801-783-7286.

Thank you Estrella Warbird Museum for being a valued Community Partner! Pictured is the museum VP Phil St. Martin and chapter president Amy Phillips. If you have visited the museum - what are you waiting for??? It is a must see with a great collection of military aircraft, equipment, artifacts, and very cool cars!
