The 2026–2027 SMART International Scholarship application period opens September 1! Scholarships are available to eligible active union members, covered employees, and their dependent spouses or children under age 25 who are enrolled or accepted as full-time students at an accredited college or university.

Awards include multi-year scholarships of up to $6,000 per year, along with several one-year scholarships. Applications will be accepted from September 1 through February 15.

Spokane’s data center debate doesn’t have to be an all-or-nothing decision.

SMART Local 55 and other members of the Spokane Building Trades support enforceable standards that protect local water supplies, maintain reliable electrical service, safeguard residential ratepayers and create lasting opportunities for local workers.

Organized labor is making its voice heard. As of July 21, approximately 690 letters had been sent to elected officials supporting responsible data center development and meaningful community involvement.

Spokane deserves development that strengthens our community and creates good local union jobs.

SMART Local 55 invites you to the 2nd Annual Range Day! Members of Local 55 and their spouse/significant others are invited! This year’s Range Day will be held at Black’s Creek Shooting Range at 11:00 am on September 26th. As a courtesy, please do not arrive before 10:30 am. Please note that only spouses or significant others will be allowed.

Once you arrive and park at The Range, you will need to turn in your waiver and sign the attendance log at the check-in table. You will then be directed to the appropriate range.

Attendance this year is limited to the first 70 members, so make sure to RSVP early!

Get ready for a high-speed weekend on the water! SMART Local 55 invites you and your family to the Water Follies on July 25–26 at Columbia Park in Kennewick, WA.

Local 55 has 100 tickets available on a first-come, first-served basis. Free water will be provided, and you’re welcome to BYOB. Bring your chairs, gather the family, and stop by the Local 55 tent for an exciting weekend of hydroplane racing!

Get ready for a full Weekend of Speed at Mode Stadium Stateline Speedway! Join SMART Local 55 on Friday, July 10 and Saturday, July 11 for two nights of racing action, family fun, and nonstop excitement at the track.

Friday night features Roadrunner 50 Invitational Night, and Saturday brings the Ron Rhode Memorial 50 with the Inland wing sprints iws taking the spotlight.

Local 55 members and their families receive FREE grandstand admission with a current dues receipt. VIP suite tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Bring the family, bring your dues receipt, and come enjoy a great weekend at the races!
