To celebrate the holiday, preschoolers at our Pasco Clubhouse Discovery Preschool got a special visit from the newly crowned Miss Juneteenth Queen. 👑

Miss Juneteenth (a.k.a. Anaiah Charles) stopped by yesterday to answer questions and read our preschoolers a story about the history of Juneteenth. 📖

Club staff have been training on topics related to behavioral health and trauma-informed care. They recently learned how to navigate trauma in youth and how it affects physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Together, we’re creating safe, supportive places to serve youth with care, compassion, and understanding.

As we celebrate 30 years of Boys & Girls Clubs of Benton and Franklin Counties, we're looking back at some historical photos from the last 3 decades. 📸

✨ In September 1999, three years after we opened our first Clubhouse, we opened our first Club site at an elementary school!

The first "Club Care" site opened at William Wiley Elementary in West Richland and served youth before and after school. This was also our first site licensed by Washington state.

Even though the site was primarily located in the gym, school administrators also opened up the school's library and computer lab for Club kids.

Today, we operate 19 Club sites at elementary schools across West Richland, Richland, and Pasco. 💙

Drivers, start your engines! 🏁

Earlier this month, NASCAR drivers No. 16 Hailie Deegan and No. 19 Mason Massey stopped by our Kennewick Clubhouse to answer questions, sign hats and race photos, and give away Tri-City Raceway tickets to Club families. 🏎️💨

Club kids also got to check out the Tri-City Raceway RMEC pace car and Hailie's Columbia Bank car, and enjoy some Kona Ice of Tri-Cities WA. 🍧

Thank you to Columbia Bank and Bill McAnally Racing for bringing this exciting event to our Club! 🙌
