PACF: More than just grants

While community foundations have been around in some form for 100+ years, they’re still rather unknown, which is a shame because it’s one of the most unique and flexible ways to make an impact in our community.

Unlike some charities, the Parsons Area Community Foundation is not serving nationally or even state-wide, our focus is right here with our neighbors.

Our donors have many options to create one-time, repeating or estate-based charitable gifts which are both flexible and address community needs. Gifts through the foundation can support a specific charity, a certain area of charitable interest (such as the arts, education, healthcare, animal welfare), or create unrestricted funds which stay local and address the biggest needs.

So the next time someone asks you what the community foundation does, you can simply say, “Parsons Area Community Foundation raises money from residents and those that love Parsons to reinvest in the local community through non-profits, scholarships and grants.”

Q4 Mini Grants are Open

It’s the final countdown! The Parsons Area Community Foundation mini grants for Quarter 4 are now open for non-profits which have current funding needs. Organizations that have not yet received the maximum of $1500 in 2026 are encouraged to apply now. Find the application here >>>>

Each year, the Parsons Area Community Foundation accepts grant applications for nonprofit projects within a 25-mile radius of Parsons. Applications can be submitted online at www.parsonsareacf.org between Dec. 15 and January 31 from schools, government entities, or 501(C)(3) nonprofits.

> Match Day on Giving Tuesday is coming up December 1st BUT your deadline to sign up to open a fund with the Foundation to be eligible and included in all marketing material is October 15th.

> Mark your calendar for our competitive grant cycle which opens December 15th. You can apply for a competitive grant and mini grants so think about those larger programs or longer term projects that need more than $1500.

Oswego Historical Society Receives Grant for Smith-Hollingsworth-Thomas Log Cabin Restoration Project

The Oswego Historical Society recently received a grant from the Steven Charles Oswego Educational Fund at the Parsons Area Community Foundation (PACF) to support the restoration of the community’s historic log cabin, helping preserve an important piece of local history for future generations.
